Heard this on Sirius NFL radio a few days ago. One of the hosts was saying the QB who would make the most sense for us to get is Brian Hoyer, the pats backup, because he's got a great arm and knows Daboll's system and is expendable with Mallett. Personally, I don't want any Pats backup QB, this guy has no NFL record and would probably cost a 4th or 5th rounder. Seems like we'd be suckered into getting another good team's backup QB (AJ Feely). But he does know the system and if he was Brady's primary backup, maybe there is something worthwhile there. Thoughts?

Jim Miller was the guy suggesting this. But, why on earth would the Patriots trade us their backup QB? And why would they do so at a fair price? Mallett is not going to be ready to step in for Brady this year. Belichick is smart enough to realize that. You can guarantee that if Belichick is willing to trade us Hoyer, then Hoyer is not worth having.

I think you summed it up perfectly!
I think Jim Miller went to Mich State so he's probably just pimping for another Mich Stater

Ive mentioned the name Brian Hoyer in the past. This would be an EXCELLENT acquisition. Hes only been behind Brady for 2 years but hes been very solid in the times he has played.

I think anywhere from a 4th to 6th round pick for this guy would be a bargain

And why would the Patriots trade their backup QB to a division rival? It's not going to happen.
