Good to hear, that the secret owners meeting outside CHicago, was not just owners and Goodell but also De Smith and NFLPA personel. That is the best news I have heard in a long time...
It appears the meeting was part of Judge Boylan's confidential mediation... The positive side, is that the 2 sides issued a join statement together to the fact.... I dont think they have agreed upon much, so the fact the 2 sides issued a joint statement, it shows a sign of respect for each other and the judge or court that hasnt always been present during this process... A little disheartened he 2 sides didnt get together on their own, it was court ordered, but I am going to try and stay optimistic about it.
i think the players have an incentive to get this wrapped up before the 8th cir rules. the 8th cir is going to rule that the court has no jurisdiction to issue injunctions in labor disputes like this; once that ruling is on the books, it will apply in all future cases in the 8th circuit, and the players won't want that law out there the next time there is a labor fight with the league. they will get a good sense of how the court will rule at the hearing tomorrow (though the ruling on the stay pretty much gives a good road map) and hopefully everyone will wrap this up quick.

Where there's a "will" there's a way for a lawyer.
