...Chad Henne would still be our starting QB for the entire year!!
There is no way that Mallett, McElroy, Stanzi, Gabbert, or anyone else would have gotten a sniff of the field this year. #3 on the depth chart all year.
Now, next year with (FRANCHISE QB ALERT) Luck and Barkley coming out, two guys that could actually start from day 1. That's where we make our move. Not with the next Danny Weurfuel, Brady Quinn, or Chad Henne.
For those who truely don't know how championship teams are built, it all starts with the o-line. LT and C both equally the most important components. We now have potential pro-bowler at both positions.
Thank you Ireland.
Ronnie and Ricky are all but done.
Daniel Thomas - Power back that can get 3rd and 3 all day long, as well as being a receiving threat. Need filled!!
Guys that rip FO people who have forgotten more about football that they will ever know crack me up!!
I agree with the OP, except on Gabbert. I think Gabbert has a certain set of skills, to include, fire, determination, leadership, and his physical assets as well....that dont compare to what Henne has. I think by seasons end, Gabbert would have taken the job from Henne.
But none of the others would have. Mallett has a better set of physical skills than Henne does, but he isnt a leader.
That being said, 3 quote on quote..."franchise" guys are coming out next year. We need to do what we can to get one of them.
Mark, if I am wrong then I'm wrong. But, I have watched both play and on tape the footage doesnt lie. Mallett looks like Marino with that arm he has attached to his shoulder.

Now I'm puzzled.
In that cas, I don't understand how you can be content that we passed on him, Mallett, TWICE.
The first time, even I had no problem (Pouncey).....that is until we took an RB in the second and we had therefore passed on the best RB to take a center.
But the second time when we took Danny Thomas, I can't figure out if you rated Mallett so high, why are you content with them taking Danny Thomas?

I agree 100% with what you just said. 100%.
The problem with this years draft though, is that there wasnt a definant "franchise QB" or significant upgrade over Henne coming out. Why waste a pick?
3 guys are coming out next year that are all quote-on-quote "franchise guys". Take one of them. Use this years draft to build extra talent and take the guy next year who fits the mold.

RESPONSE: So that what's you're saying. I don't think that physically he looks like Marino. He does look like JaMarcus, maybe Ryan Leaf, but more like Henne and Roethelisberger.
I've already stated my opinion on the character issue but I note that you say his is "in common" with that of the others. Now, maybe so, but none of them are drug addicts or gangsters.
I heard somewhere that Jimmy Wilson was "well known" to the cops in Montana and that he had some other run ins with the law---so I don't know if this St Jimmy picture of him is all that accurate
I haven't heard that. I only heard that he had killed his aunt's abuser. So my position about character was predicated on that. If there were other character issues, they certainly did not surface to me.
Even so, regardless of whether he had run-ins with the law, he dispatched an abuser to his reward.
Less A-holes like that beating up on women, the better this world.
The less Al Quaeda member believing that Obama will bury them with full Islamic rites even if they are caught and killed, the less that A holes will join Al Quaeda.
How can we get Mark Cuban to buy the Phins from Ross? He wouldn't do something as stupid as a 20% pay cut for the people who make the least amount of money in the organization!!! I mean, are the players' or coaches' salaries being cut? Seriously. 20% is peanuts, but it definitely lowers moral.

20% is anything BUT Peanuts to someone who makes $75,000 a year. Fuel is up to $4.00 a gallon. Home insurance in South Fla. is through the roof. Just the basics in life. Terrible way to take care of the people that REALLY run the organization.
how much $$ is this team spending on JLo and Venus Williams and all of the other celebrity orange carpet crap? Also, didn't Sporano get an extra few million on an extension that was obviously just to soothe his hurt feelings? even if they fire him next year (no one thinks the extension would prevent that if the team plays like it did last year) they are still on the hook for those millions.
Nice that they are cutting low level worker's pay now. . . .

Yeah, I phrased that completely wrong. It's peanuts to the Dolphin organization, but NOT to those who are getting their pay cut.
Say what you want , I don't see many fans really excited right now. Many are even speaking about getting a QB next Year. There is 0% excitement right now. Na na. Nothing. Doughnuts. A Trade up for a QB with a Huge possible upside would have been VERY exciting and you all know it.
