Here we go again....how can I be optimistic again for the new season? Lol
I am banking on legitimate competition for henne and even possibly....improved play by henne in a less predictable offense with a better line and running game.
Thomas and hopefully Kory Sheets in a one two punch.
An elite Center (finally I hope) that can pull to the left and right.
Improved special teams with Gates and the new hard hitting DB.
An improved defense with Odrick and Edds where we get to see what they can do.
Improved hands by our CB's and Smith actually doing what we know he can do....acrobatic ints.
Misi improving his pass rush....I have a good feeling anout him.
A new h back that brings versatility....and best of all...
It is eyebrow raising that Daboll got Derek Anderson to the Pro Bowl, and made Colt McCoy look good for a rookie QB.
I hope he can work magic with Henne (who I dont feel is our future, as of this moment), and with all this extra talent I will be anxious to see the offense that is put out on the field.
There is no doubt our defense will be top 5 this season. No doubt. Another year in Nolan's defense, another year of growth amongst the young defenders and Odrick and Edds coming back.
Look, I was as down on Henne at the end of the year as anyone here. However, he did play pretty well the year before-when he had a decent offensive line. If the line improves, so will Henne. Will he be the second coming of Marino? Of course not, but he should be at least in the top half of the league, QB wise.
