Gil just says he can't remember a QB with such limited athletic ability ever succeeding in the league. He says the difference with Mallett from some other notable unathletic QBs, is that Mallett doesn't even move well in the pocket.
I'm torn here, he's supposedly the most pure talented QB in the draft right? But if he's that big of a head case that he'd fall to third round can we really afford to waste our much needed pick? Is the risk worth the reward?

There is no debate that he is the best passer in the draft. No one will argue that. And for all of the "QB needy" teams to have passed on him so far, that should tell you that he has some major, major red flags.
We have to take him if he's there for us...we need another quartarback for depth and to push Henne. We need to start rolling the dice on at least one (Q in every draft until we find a quality group of guys.
