My nephew and I got into an argument. He is a 49ers fan who cannot understand why I want to see the Jets lose.

He says that he wanted to Seattle win as a wake-up call to the 49er ownership that they've got to get on the ball.

I replied that our ownership is brain-dead and even Judgement Day could not wake it up. Moreover, I said the only thing that matters to me is bragging rights within the Division. Right now, the Dolphins have 2 SuperBowl rings and the Jets have 1.

I said the most important thing is to NOT have any other team in the division that has bragging rights. The Pats now have 3 and I didn't want to have 4.

My nephew comes back with, "I have 5 Miami Dolphin fans who said they would agree with me that it is better to have someone in your division win a SuperBowl to spur your leadership to get better."

I was surprised.

I want to see if the statistics are the same on this board.

So would you rather see a team in our division win the Superbowl or not make it and lose if they do.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but the rivalry between the 49ers and the Seahawks doesn't seem as storied or intense as Dolphins v Pats/Jets. My suspicion is that your nephew simply doesn't understand the level of hate you have for the Jets and the Patriots. Buncha low life loud mouth cheaters.

Yeah, this is an easy one. NO SUPERBOWL FOR ANY AFC EAST TEAM OTHER THAN US!

Now, I will root for the AFC to win, if I dont care who the team is, but, I will never....EVER root for the patsies, jests, or jills to win the BIG ONE.

It never bothered me that much when NE would win because, we never really had a nasty rivalry with NE or NE never did us that wrong, other then the snow mover game.

Back in the days of Buffalo's success I hated the Bills and never rooted for them, Jim Kelly and THurmon Thomas, Bruce SMith and Daryl Talley, all those guys use to make me sick...

Now the Jets, I hate them worse then all of them. The Jets pay no one respect so they dont deserve any from anyone.. I hate the Jets... I would rather root for any other team then the JETS. THe Jets cry about not getting respect, they are gonna have to get use to it, no one is going to ever give the Jets respect with the way they act.
Lets go Steelers!!!!

Pats = never never never ever ever again would I ever ever not root for them to lose arms legs playoffs preseason draft picks and Krafts snotty boogers of his wifes shoulder.

Ever. Pats are a ffraud franchise IMO. Just Ewww.

J E T S = suck suck suck but at least they haven't won a SB in like 50 years. Plus I wanna see more of Sexy Rex and hottie wife in serious toe jam session.

Buffalo = really tasty meat but a crap football franchise. But hey, you gotta feel sorry for anything that lives there.

Miami = ??? and ??? with a few more ??? for good measure. I'm not sure what the franchise is about anymore.

But I do think the "Miami Fist" would be an interesting name.

More pumpers than anywhere else!

And hey, Finger Field is a great name for the stadium.

RESPONSE: Tsk. Tsk. Another "and man can those rascals fight" comment. Or did you not know I grew up in Comanche County, Oklahoma playing in the fields as a toddler with Buffaloes? These gentle creatures would not hurt a fly. I am opposed to eating their meat.

Errrrrrr. Just yanking your chain. LOL.

Either way even if they get there it shows where we need to go. You have to root for JT, our braintrust gave up on him.

you have a wise nephew... Yes I am I am a big rex ryan fan and I want the jets to beat the steelers but I dont know if I want them to win the superbowl. Living in the tristate area i think I like rex even more than the jets fan who cant stand him. Unlike our head coach Rex has a swagger (any "U" fan can respect that).

Here is the difference, Rex sends his guys out there to punch you in the mouth and say yeah I did it so what, where sparano sends his guys out there to kick 70 yard field goals... no wonder we are home watching
