With Dan Henning gone(and not a moment too soon), I think we may have seen the death of the wildcat. One can only hope right?

Did Donald Lee follow him out the door? If so, then very possibly YES. If Lee is still around, then the wildcat still has life.

I assume we won't know about Lee or any other offensive assistant until we hire a new OC.

Ya know, I'm not for throwing the baby out with the bath water. The WC is in the league and still has a applications.

If we become blessed with a real legit franchise type QB then keep him (or her) on the field and stop the QB off the field nonsense.

Time spent practicing the Wildcat would be better spent practicing how to run anything but a damn in route, IMO.

Our opponents have to study the wildcat too, is the point.

But I agree it should be really scaled back. I mean, keep it in the playbook (after all, the hook-and-lateral is still in the playbook isn't it?) but there CERTAINLY is no need to go to it every game. When the situation is right, when film study warrants it, but only rarely should we use wildcat plays in the future.

I'd use the wildcat about as often as I'd use the double-reverse, flea-flicker, and any other gimmick play. If it happens to work well, maybe try it a 2nd time, but don't live and die by it!
