Chad P is super bright and very much a student of the game. He's YOUNG (and this staff has been comprised of way too many old farts IMO) and has an amazing upside.
Yes, he is totally unproven as a coach - albeit he was a defacto player coach. He's on Sparano's side. He's already 100% familiar with the system and personell.
He would need a year or so to grow into the job - but he's got to be as legit of an OC candidate as Harbaugh was as a HC?
He's the BEST leader on the team and can parlay that into total command as a coach. He wants to stay in SFL. And is willing to put in the time coaches have to.

I think he would take the job, and I like it, it is bold, but he is a good connection to keep the players and coaches together

How can you say that? He's been a player his whole career and if he's been a player/QBcoach then why has Henne regressed so bad? No to OC, yes to making him a QB coach.
I would like to see him be the QB coach for a year or two before giving him the keys to the entire offense. Not that he isn't capable of doing, but there is surely a high enough learning curve in the transition from player to coach to warrant slower progression to becoming OC.

Chad P may want to try to come back as a player, so I'll take the monkey.

Glad to see that it only took a few days for you to get back to slamming this team again. WELCOME BACK.

Thank you krunk. Odenn doesn't like my realism. Ohh well. I know something about odenn that he can't stand so it's why he attacks me like he does.

He has been slamming this team even in the days when we last won the AFC east...thats all he does.
His Bid then was...........QUOTE: We gonna get killed in the playoffs. Even before it happened.
You can't just become an offensive coordinator. It takes experience as an offensive coach, in all areas of the offense. Its not just about calling plays and working with the QB. The OC has to know the offensive line, the running backs, the WRs, and the TEs, too. OCs carry around their own personal playbooks from job to job. Pennington does not have the experience.
If you are looking for an internal candidate, Karl Dorrell is the only real option. He has been an OC and head coach at the college level.
Is Scott Linehan available? Could he be made available? He was damn effective when he was here, and he did it with Gus Frerotte, a less-than-stellar QB.
You guys are dreaming if you think Chad P is gonna be our next OC. I will stand in front of the stadium next year in a pink tutu and high heels singing a Lady Gaga song if this happened. No way, no how!

That was pretty funny. I almost have to root for Pennington to get the job now. Just to see dolphaholic, in a pink tutu, high heels, singing lady Gag at the front of the stadium.... Just do us a favor and dont claim any affiliation to this site.... HAHAHA.... Or maybe you can just put a sign on you that says Hi I am MIKE O.....LMFAO....
All kidding aside, You have agood point that it would be a large jump, to go from a player directly to OC playcaller and a guy in charge of the entire offense and it schemes..... I am not saying Pennington cant do it. It just seems like a big leap for a player to take in one year...
As I said before, I will be rooting for it, if nothing else just for the pregame, LAdy Gaga impersonation.
Crowder, i'ts a big risk making that kind of statement with the leadership of this team lately, but i'm that confident that the stars wont align....sparing you guys the site of me in a pink tutu and high heels.
