Luck staying?

BenVolinPBP RT @timkawakami: Wow: Jon Wilner reports that Stanford is about to announce that Andrew Luck will STAY at school for 2011 season

This would be a real head scratcher and would hurt our chances of landing a top QB this April.

Lol. That's a total diss of the Carolina Panthers.

Don't blame him, though.

I hope it does and he stays in college.

I rather have sparano than this unknown.

Wow....what a dumb thing to do.

The kid is the garaunteed #1 pick. If he gets hurt, he loses 50 Mill.

So dumb.... he is risking so much by going back. What if Harbaugh leaves and his team falls?

It could hurt his stock.

And Rookie wage scales are almost certainly going to be addressed in this new CBA as well.

And i have to agree its dumb not to declare elegible.

His draft stock wont improve a bit. I mean how much better can it be than the # 1 pick in the draft.

One of the dumbest things in a while.

The guy is the clear cut #1 and nothing is going to change that.

He doesnt even have to throw a football from now until the draft and he will be the #1 pick.

What has Harbaugh done as coach in the pro game the proves he can handle the transisition from Coaching an ivy league school in college to the HC of an organization like the Dolphins. I am not saying he cant, and I am going to root for the guy, if in fact we sign him. But I truly dont think that Harbaugh is some miracle tonic for this team. Makes me nervous as hell. THis was about ticket sales IMO, not football. Ross wants his splash to help boost sales,
Dont anyone get confused about the fact Harbaugh is a college HC. THis not Bill Cowher or Jon Gruden, who have both won superbowls. This is a college coach

I hope you guys are right and harbaugh becomes a great NFL coach but why do i have the feeling he is just another saban.

And saban was successfull in college.

What has harbaugh done he had a good record this year probably because he has the best offensive weapon in college. Andrew Luck.

I hope whatever happens is for the best. But i just dont see it like some of you do.

How about fisher intead of sparano. There. Id take fisher.

Trust me i wanna eat some crow after this. Bring out the plate a spoon and a fork. And some napkins too.

What has Sparano done to warrant another chance?

last I checked Stanford was in the pac10 and not the Ivy's, there's kind of a difference in the quality of opponent. If you are referring to the fact that Stanford has high acedemic standards, I'd say that makes what Harbaugh accomplished there MORE impressive, not less, since he can't take any moron onto his team and has a smaller pool of players to recruit.
But I take your main point that he's accomplished nothing as an NFL coach....

There is a transisition, in getting Pros, motivated and believing as it is compared to a group of Kids from Stanford to listen to him. It is a big difference. And I am going to say the Stanford kids rank right up there in discipline and being self motivators..... Sorry you are right STanford is not IVY League, but they have the same caliber student athletes as them, and that is really my point.

Elway didn't want to play for the Colts. Eli Manning didn't want to play for San Diego. They BOTH got their wish!! Just because you're the #1 pick, it doesn't mean you HAVE TO play for the team that's slated to pick #1. All Luck has to do is state that he wants to play for Miami and won't play for anyone else. It's not that crazy a thought.

what an idiot. The last few annointed #1 overall QBs who stayed in college lived to regret it----Locker, Leinart. What, Stanford isn't going to let him back to finish his degree later?? He just cost himself millions of dollars.
I wonder if the announcement that Harbaugh is staying is far behind?
