I'm hoping for a strike. Always have.
I felt the same way as you did, are these coaches thinking it's too big a problem to fix and don't want the headache even for 8 million? Geesh. I'd take the job lol regardless at that number.
Ross' continued insistence that Ireland is too valuable to release leads me to suspect that, in typical Miami Dolphins fashion, the next year will unfold as follows:
1) We retain both Ireland and Sparano.
2) Ireland makes an epic blunder during this year's draft.
3) Cowher inks a deal for another team.
4) Everything finally unravels during the season and we once again fall back to the bottom of the AFC East.
5) Ireland is fired. Sparano is fired. Carl Peterson is introduced as the new Dolphins GM.
6) The darkest stretch of Dolphins Football begins.
I am not a big fan of Gruden anyways. He was given all the parts when he came to Tampa. As for Cowher, he had staying power and I would be 50/50 on him.
We have the parts there. We just need to bring in anyone who is willing to score more then 3 points in a game. Things we have good:
1. A good defense with starters returning and sophomore defenders are usually better and don't hit that sophomore slump like QBs.
2. A good kicker. Even a good drive can be stopped by one or two lucky plays on defense, so having a good kicker is a key and we have that.
3. We have speed, most of them will be back cause injuries were early in the year. So they should be healthy we start.
4. At least two good lineman. Filling the holes through FA should fix that.
We are weakest at RB and QB and the other three spots in the line. I feel Thigpen can get it done for us if we don't find a better replacement. Hell, Henne may even stop being a robot with the proper coaching but I doubt it.
Plus we need to put a young speedy receiver at returner. The are usually good at it, cause they are running for their lives to not get hit. Cobbs was not the answer.

Don't be jelous!! I quick " I love you Mia1 too" will put you on it!!
I heard he's getting 8 mil from Tampa this year still, if he took another HC job they probably wouldn't have to pay that (might be wrong about that but pretty sure thats accurate) so asking for 10 mil sounds about right.

Huh? He's still getting paid from his original contract, not rehire him
