Thats right one good thing to point out sunday was the 4.2 yards per attempt with the big guy up front generating 154 yards, pretty much keeping in check Suh which is candidate for Rookie of the year.
Good job INCOGNITO!!! still has alot of work to accomplish to make the move permanent, but hell he looked better than Berger lol..
This is exciting!!!! Much easier to find a solid guard over a Center. I hope this pan's out and he starts again Sunday somthing to root for in a winless situation!!!!
Really? Can you say for sure? Do you have a tape? Did you review it play by play?
I'm not saying you are definitely wrong but it seems to me that he had a helluva lot less time this game than against teams like the Jets that have a much better reputation for a pass rush.
Because he is in a new position, and we had one of the best rushing days of this year.
I actualy did start watching him play when I saw and realized he was playing center, he wasnt great, I didnt expect him to be, but he held his own, and kept SUH in check for most of the game, which is a big feat.

I think Jerry will be better next year, but Carey needs to be replaced

I have to agree with this. I did not see this game but will watch NFL replay tonight.
We need a center like Dwight Stevenson. Someone that can dominate.
in about the late 3d/early 4th Q, Murtha got hurt, so they had to move McQustan to his spot, then Incognito over to G where McQ was playing, then they put Berjer in C. Not conincidently, that's about the time the OL went to crap and the D got much more push and the RBs less yardage. Berger sucks!!
I thought the "ignore" function blocked all posts from a certain person therefore if you activated that function, you could not pick and choose what you would know about.
ignore means you can't see the posts but you can see where the person posted in the thread. you need to affirmatively click to see the actual post. So if you're clicking that and reading every post, then deciding to mentally "ignore" them, you're actually doing more work than if you didn't have them on ignore in the first place. how can you argue with that logic?
Incognito is a free agent at the end of the season. We'll see if they re-sign him. I wouldn't put much stock in what the running game did against the Lions. You take away the Marlon Moore reverse, and we averaged 3.8 yards per carry for the day. You take away the 28 yard run out of the wildcat, and we averaged 3.1 yards per carry. Those two plays made it seem like we had a good day running the ball, but take away those 2 plays, and you have 35 carries for 110 yards, which is very unimpressive. Considering the Lions have the 5th worst run defense in the league, allowing 4.6 yards per carry, our performance is just further proof that we can't run the ball.
One thing that was proven by moving Incognito to Center was that neither Jerry nor McQuistan can pass protect worth a hill of beans. They were both beaten like drums all day. And McQuistan was even worse when he moved to RT for the injured Murtha.
I understand why you're excited. It's probably the first time this season Miami has racked up decent ground yardage, regardless of how. If you want a more accurate assessment of Incognito at center, look at the Bears game. Didn't he play C that game? Also, seems to me that his shotgun snaps could use a LOT of work before you hand the reigns over to him. The center touches the ball more than any other player out there. He has to be consistent with his snap, long and short, and be able to have a lot of pop coming out of his 3 stance with basically a NT already in your grill before you get the ball to the QB. (I played C, G and T in school.)
According to profootballfocus.com, Incognito earned an overall -1.8 grade for the Lions game. He was particularly poor with his pass blocking. It could be worse, though. Pat McQuistan earned a -6.9.
