Your right A&O. Thats what DB's are supposed to do. Like the old saying goes, 'If he could catch...'
Listen, if Sean Smith catches 2 or 3 out of the 10 sure-fire pick sixes this year, people would be considering him a top 10 DB for having 2 or 3 pick sixes in a season.
Bu, just because that hasnt happened does not make him "suck". He just isnt "great" yet.
The great thing for us Dolphin fans to appreciate is how much he has gotten better. The simple fact he has put himself in those positions to make plays show how much he has developed and improved from last season.
I dont remember him dropping this many INT's last season. Which obviously proves how much more he is around the football now.
Smith is over the sophmore slump that hit him at the beginning of the year. He's poised to have a GREAT year next year. He'll work on catching in the offseason.
I'm telling you guys, we're going to have the best pair of CBs in the league next year..and for several years after that. It will rival the days of Madison/Surtain.
Our defense is coming together. We'll have some stiff competition next year at Safety between Bell, Clemons, and Jones. I'm curious whether we'll be re-signing Will Allen. He could be a great nickel CB. At ILB I think we have a good foundation with Dansby/Crowder/Dobbins. The best of those 3 will start (Dansby and ??), and the third will provide depth. Our D-Line will be strong next year with Merling and Odrick back. Starks will shift back to NT and give Soliai a run for his money. I don't think it's going to matter who starts, as we'll be platooning guys to keep them fresh. We still need depth at OLB, but we have a keeper in Cam Wake!
ChambersDeepBall, your point was proved. Now you know why the NY Media was dwelling on the Santonio drop. When you posted it here and referred to the Sean Smith drop, all OUR people could do is focus on that drop. Get my point?
