He said, the same thing that happened in 2009, happened again. But it can not be seen the extent of damage until the doctor scopes it and does surgery, which is scheduled in a few days. He said he is 50/50 on whether or not he will try and comeback to play. Last year he said he was 75/25. Now it all depends on which side of the bed he wakes up on, whether or not he wants to play again.
He said he is currently involved with the gameplanning and preparation every week.
He is looking at all of his options, Playing, Broadcasting, Coaching, going back to school for an MBA, etc. He is not sure right now, he is focused on his boys and family love.
THey question what type of coaching, High school, college, pros, he said he has options and oppurtunity in all of them.
He said the shoulder was hurt on first play, but he physically popped in back into place, Didnt tell anyone, Henning called another pass play, And Pennington said, well here goes nothing. THrew the pass play, and he went back to huddle and the shoulder fell out again. He couldnt pop it back in, so he asked ROnnie Brown, to pop it back in place for him and Ronnie said, I am not touching that shoulder..
QUestioned why he wanted to keep popping it back in and risk it. Pennington said, if this was it, he wanted to go down and score and end it with one last TD. When the shoulder fell out again, he called the timeout and knew his shoulder was cooked. He said it was a relief that the team followed through and scored a TD on the drive, which means something to him now.
Whats keeping him going is helping the Qbs breakdown film and prepare. It makes him feel still part of the game. He said he has done this his whole life, and I never had a real job. Playing QB, is all I have ever known. He says there is no doubt he can comeback, but he has to weigh whether or not he can be an assett or liability to the team. He knows he can rehab his shoulder ,but he worries about whether or not it would pop up again, and for that he doesnt know if his shoulder can be trusted again. He doesnt want to let down the team becasue of his selfishness.
The main medical aspect, is whether nor not it was a torn capsule that can not be stregthened or it is just the muscle. Muscle can be strengthen, capsules cannot.

he needs to give it up. his shoulder can't even hold up 2 plays anymore (actually sounds like 1 play). That said it's true he is all class and we need to keep him around as a coach somehow.

I can promise you that Sparano, has asked him to be a part of his staff, if he decides not to play. If you have ever heard Sparano speak of Chad P., he says that Chad Pennington has meant the world to him as a HC and he wouldnt be he who is as a HC without Pennington... Trust me the oppurtunity in the pro's is from Sparano.
Pennington said he is going to see what his family wants. IMO, if his family wants to stay in south florida, he becomes one of our coaches.
