Clemons was on the bike today and Reshad Jones got snaps with the first team next to YB ofr the firs time this season. I like Jones, curious to see what happens with this situation.

He is a great tackler and a ball hawk, How can this be really bad, what great job has Clemons done. The other options are Culver, Amaya or Ness. You dont think it is possible for a FS to play SS. It seems the coaches think it is possible. Clemons couldnt catch a cold, and finds himself out of position all to often.
At first, his college football at Georgia, he played great at times in preseason he made some great tackles, he seemed to be instinctual and around the ball. I watched him close in preseason because I was worried about Clemons and we had no real FS competition. The main knock on Reshad out of college was his 40 speed, I watched him chase down a fast rb and saved a TD in preseason, At that point I saw that his game speed was good enough and have been anxious to see the guy get a chance on the field. He played well on ST and had some great plays already this year as a gunner. We will see, it was only a practice, but interesting that he was the guy they placed as you stated out of position on the 1st team with Clemons on the bike. He must have impressed somebody on the practice field at some point.

Clemons probably tweaked something. Jones is listed as his backup, so he's the one in. I, actually, think Amaya should play over Jones if Clemons can't.

He wasn't out of position. He has been the backup FS all season.
They also used a lot of Sean Smith as a 3rd safety today, with Harris taking his place at corner. They've done that a lot with Smith this season. I think his days as a corner are numbered for us.

I understand that, Montequi correctly stated that his true position out of college was SS... He has fought for the job he played today, because YB holds down the SS. I am sure if YB was hurt they would not have a problem with him at SS. but either way my comment was in response to Montequi. Coming out of college when I liked him ,this" dont play Reshad Jones at FS because he is out of position" argument was originally made by MikeO when I wanted to give Jones the shot over Clemons back early on at FS.
As far Sean Smith as a safety. It is really just the coverage, being in nickel or dime, SO you can call him what ever you want really. He has been covering the large recievers and TE since the second game of the season. He played Boldin man on man almost all of last week, in the cb postion, if Boldin went to the outside so did Sean Smith. SO I dont think his days are numbered at cb, He is just a versatile player and the guy needed to cover the biggest size reciever or threat of size. WHen we play the Jets and NE he will cover a TE, when we play Ravens he will be a CB...

I am just curious, what gave you the idea, I didnt think he could play both positions! We agree with each other, You are preaching to the choir!

Just based on reports coming out of college and from TC.
