I would have to expect the "quarterback only" people to call for his head.
However, the fact remains that we had 1) poor tackling leading to ridiculous yards after catches and rushes that got 5 times the amount of yardage than should have been.
2) dropped passes and what's worse THREE dropped easy interceptions. (Not talking about those that we manage to get a finger on but those that are hard not to catch).
3) play calling again that at least may have cost us 4 points in deciding to pass from the 9 inch line and goal.
Lastly, I disagree with those who say that the receiver was wide open on that play. Yes, there was no one hanging on to his jersey but the defender was right in front of him, so Henne had to "THROWOVER" the defender without "OVERTHROWING" the receiver. That is not being open.
A QB with touch makes that throw 9 out of 10 times. We've already given Henne tons of excuses. Penny makes that throw and we don't settle for another FG.
You certainly remember Penny a whole lot differently than I do. MAYBE he makes that throw but all I remember is a lot of sacks and a lot of interceptions.
i dont remember too many picks from pennington i remember that being his sole positive is he was careful with the ball
"It's been fun to get the reaction of visiting coaches to the color of their locker room. Most don't notice it, but those that do are in trouble. . . . When I talk to an opposing coach before a game and he mentions the pink walls, I know I've got him. I can't recall a coach who has stirred up a fuss about the color and then beat us.” Hayden Fry
There is a lot of blame to go around and Chad had to take his share as well, that pass had to be better and Fasano needs to present a better target but he was open.

Pennington threw 4 INT against the Ravens in 2008.

IMO Henne was fairly careful with the ball this year...until today.

Maybe Henne would've made it 9 out of 10, we'll never know.
I was hoping we would go for it on 4th down, but the coaches are happy with just 3 points....
But it was. NFL franchise QB has to make that throw. Its not like the hardest throw in the world christ man I make that throw all the time to my son in practice.
