One thing about Baltimore is they are very well coached, and have a great gametime coach in Harbaugh.
Sparano is going to need to step his game up this week.
No weird timeouts, no wildcat drive killers, no ultra-conservative play calling to settle for field goals.
Need to see good halfftime adjustments, good clock management, and above all, good play calling in the red zone to keep Carpenter fantasy value below Brandon Marshalls'.

I'm sorry buddy poor CAL, look man we will play conservative, we will make little if any half time adjustments, our clock management will be shakey at best and the red zone play calling will be as conservative blan vanilla as you will see ESPECIALLY with Ed-Reed on the other side.
Start Carpenter in all faucets of fantasy football, and expect a record breaking afternoon!!!!
I'm starting to question Sparano. While he's a good student of the game and motivates his players well does he understand what it takes to win games? He doesn't seem all that invested in an Offense that knows how to finish games. What is puzzling is his inability to give his Offense an identity. Are they going to control the clock? Are they going to air it out? He seems not to decide this before the game and reacts rather than game plans.

STARTING to?
Your point re a game plan...I'm sure he *has* a plan, it's just not panning out the way he's expecting. As for 'reacting' that's good in a way, in the form of gametime adjustments.
I agree with the criticism that they need to heave it long once in a while. But I also believe that every single person who is criticizing him for being 'too conservative' will cry bloody murder if/when increased pass attempts yields more turnovers. I can see it now "we can't turn the ball over like this....we're taking too many risks!"

Right on. NFL fans are never happy unless they are winning SB's. We could never throw one single bomb down field period, and if we're 6-1 you don't hear any of this mess about "deep threats".

If we'd played well on special teams we had a chance to beat both the jets and pats....There is where we lost both games and we lost to pittsburgh by a bad call...
Probably undefeated is too much to say but we could had very well been 6 and 1 right about now.
Due to coaching again mind you we are not undefeated, but I said we have the talent except the deep threat, but enough in all aspects to be the best team, however our coaching will always hinder this group, because I believe they are not utilizing this group to its strengths.

They are utilizing this group as well as they can but they also know their limitations.

I believe that is true on Defense, but not Offense. We've had injuries that have caused Nolan to change up his schemes, but Henning has NOT been using our offensive talent as best as possible:
1. It took him a while to figure out the wildcat isn't working. Part of that is the ineffectiveness of Ronnie Brown.
2. We're playing too many 2 WR sets and not spreading the field correctly. We need to get Marshall, Bess, and Hartline on the field together running different routes!! Marshall should be coming across the middle more often. Hartline should be running deep fly patterns. Bess should be running underneath close to the 1st down marker. That should give Henne enough places to throw that he won't have to throw it away, take a sack, or force it in.

IMO I think the wildcat hasn't worked not because of ronnies
ineffectiveness but because of other teams have already figured
it out. you know, it was good while it lasted but i knew this would happen.
Teams have had more than enough time to study the wild cat. In the back of my mind i knew they were going to find a way to defend it.
I mean, this is not college. Every NFL team has the best O and D coordinators money can buy.

I don't know. The Jets ran the WC against us pretty effectively, and we're supposed to be the experts on how to defend it. The main premise is a good one...take out the QB so the defense has one more man to worry about. It's almost the same as the option, except for the off-balance line. If you have the right talent the WC has a chance to work in moderation. The problem with it is substituting players in and out gives the defense a chance to do the same and match personnel, ultimately neutralizing it. If you try to shifting in and out of it without substituting personnel, then you keep the QB in and you lose the advantage. Still, if you happen to have a solid corp of RBs and TEs and a big O-Line, the WC could still work.

The biggest reason why the wildcat isnt working is simple. Justin Smiley was again when healthy for us was voted as the best pulling guard in the league, he was a HUGE factor in the success of the wildcat.
Our offensive line is great in pass protection, but our guards mainly Incognito can't pull to save there life.
Also Berger is just a average center. Plus Henning has been subbing the QB, and if you noticed our biggest play's out of the formation have been when the QB stayed in at the wr spot.
