Our rankings thru Week 6

Very middle of the road.

Pass yrds- 13th 232.2
Rushing yrds- 14th 115.6

Passing yrds allowed- 12th 201.8
Rushing yrds allowed- 16th 109.4

It screams of a team with no identity. I'd like to see the rushing yards per game go up into the 130 range. That indicates a serious ass-whooping on a team.

We're statistically right in the middle of the pack. I look at who we put these numbers up against.
Buffalo
Minnesota
New York
New England

Having such a high average rushing per game after having Minnesota on that list makes me wonder how bad our o-line is, or are we just getting pissed at watching those pulling guards do nothing. We get our success between the tackles and on draws. I'm glad Ricky doesn't try to run all the way around the corner anymore. He buries the shoulder pad now days. Possibly he's missing a step.

No doubt Ricky's missing a step. Just watched the first quarter of Sunday's game and on the second drive, Ricky had a huge hole on the right side. All he had to do was beat the outside lb who was at the same level. Instead, he cut back to the middle of the field for a safe 10 yard gain.

A younger Ricky would've easily outran the backer and walked into the endzone.

you think our rushing average is bad now, wait until after the p-burg game. We are sure to drop well into the double figures

I honestly think we'll break 100 on them. Call me crazy. I just think it'll happen.

I bet it is salmonilla, and if so that stuff can mess you up for a long time?

I don't know but your right this 0-line as mentioned many many times is lack luster up the middle.

Odenn - I'm with you on some of your thoughts here.

However, we have to be careful with stats. San Diego is currently #1 offensively and defensively in terms of total yards gained and yards allowed...and they are 2-4, having just lost to STL.

I do think we leave a minimum of 15-20 rushing yards per game on the field due to the play of our interior line. I haven't watched Berger specifically much, but McQ routinely doesn't block anyone when he pulls. When he has to pick one of two defenders, he often freezes up and doesn't pick anyone.

We run the off tackle short sweep too much. Stay in between the tackles. Have the guards handle the DL and big jake and verney cracking out on ILBS. We seem to get much better results with the backs we have running it up the gut.

You never know. Thats why we play the game.

1. If they put a safety close to the LOS to stop the run marshall and company will eat them alive.

2. If they do not i dont see a reason why we could not run the ball.

We will see what happens.
