Roughing the passer?

Last week, Chris Clemons got called for a clearly BOGUS roughing the passer penalty. It just happened again in the Philly-Washington game. Eagle's No.50 clearly pulled up at the end of his rush, and tried to hold McNabb up. He didn't strike with the crown of the helmet, either. Looked quite a lot like the Clemons play last week. I can understand the refs wanting to protect the QB's, but these calls seem to me to be excessive. Neither of these guys did anything wrong. This seems to be a "referee thing" new this year.

Clemons was a personal foul for unnecessary roughness on a WR, but you're basically right.

The officiating in the Eagles-Redskins game was awful, though...

Absolutely ridiculous!!!

Tried to find the replay and couldn't but if memory serves me correctly, I remember Clemons pulling up and actually becoming the one getting hit.

Was there a fine on the Jets LB for helmet to helmet on Ronnie?
