This is one of the best, most aggressive, most confident defenses I have seen in the NFL in the last decade. The team is 2-0 because of the defense and I think the offense will continue to improve.
Unless these first two weeks have been a fluke, I think this team is a legit title contender.
Phinsfan, I must agree with you. Defense did play great, but not elite. Now if the offense comes around, we really can win the division. But that is a big if right now. Our QB play simply must improve.
I have always said that every great team must have a great running game. The Colts showed that yesterday. But the QB must bring the team home. So far Henne has not done that. Not even close.
Now why am I losing faith in Henne? This is his 3 year. He should be well on his way by now. His slow feet and poor pocket presence is the cause. Yes the play calling was to conservative, but he had his chances. Just did not look sharp to me.
Minnesota was encouraging, but lets revisit after week 4.
I'd like to see how it does against Bellicheck and Brady before I start crowning us contenders. If it is smoke and mirrors, the Patriots will certainly expose us.
You are also looking at a season from which Minnesota were ahead by alot in most games. He's still the 2nd best back in the game, behind one of the best O lines.
Miami's defence should at least get a B+ for yesterdays effort.
