I thought it was pretty weird for ricky to do a weekly radio show, doesn't seem like his personality. I guess he's over the social anxiety disorder. haven't heard it yet but I'll take a listen b/c he's one of my favorite players too, on and off the field.

I dont agree.... Ricky does a weekly yoga meditation class at Nova for free... ANyone that knows Ricky, knows money is not a real motivating factor in his life.. Stupid naive comment IMO!

I dont like Sid much, but I did like this interview.. Ricky's energy and personality seemed to keep SId in check and on his best behavior. When he tried to get Ricky to say he doesnt hate the jets, and Ricky wouldnt was classic and Sid got the point to bail on the idea of Ricky saying something nice about the Jets... Ricky's not stupid enough to fall for your crap SId!

Oh please, get a clue. Ricky one week is ripping the media then the next is doing a weekly radio show. Is it because of his love for the media......NO!!! So why would he do it, oh wait its because of the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

How much money is he making? Do you know?

it can't be that much money. Is Ricky really that motivated by money? It would seem out of character. He's got enough now with his last contract to provide for his family, I don't think he's trying to live the high life with private jets or anything. If he was really motivated by money he'd have handled his last 2 contracts differently and not just accepted whatever post it note he was handed by Bill, a la JT.

SOrry but you are just projecting yourself and your own motivations and belief systems on Ricky.... I stick by my comment, that saying Rickys doing the Radio show is all about the money is a STUPID and NAIVE COMMENT. Spend the time to listen to the guy and look at his actions. I think it is you that might need to get a clue.

Sid is a complete retard. Its the first time I hear him and i thought he was alright but then I heard the Odrick interview and I thought he was a complete douche. Stupid jokes and stupid comments but I agree, he couldn't get through Ricky who is all class.

Every NFL player who has a radio show gets paid. They are paid spots. How much is Ricky making, I have no clue. But they are all paid spots. None of them do it for free. You think they want to take time out of their day for that??

Why do you think he came back to the NFL? For money that's why. Same reason he is doing the show. He would be teaching Yoga on a mountain in Tibet if it was up to him but he has how many kids to pay support to????

If there is one player that might do a radio show for free, it would be Ricky.

No, before you get all bent out of shape and start rolling eyes and LOL, I didn't say Ricky did a show for free, only that if one guy would do it for free, it would be Ricky. He is a wild card.

With that said, you don't know how much Ricky is getting paid, if any. So you don't know much about what you are talking about. I do believe that money would be the only reason you would do a talk show, but that is your world, not Ricky's.

Who knows what Ricky's motivations are?

Mike O, you are lost and sad... Ricky is into Spiritual growth, something you understand nothing about, so I dont expect you to remotely understand.. Continue yout sad ways being lost and dysfunctional.... I think being in that press box has taken away your soul. I honestly feel bad for people like you...Sad and lonely...You dont even really deserve to comment about a guy like Ricky.. Sad Sad Sad

That's real mature. Can't debate me on the issue so run straight to that.

I don't know a man's motivations. No one can unless you're that man. For any of you, MikeO or otherwise, to assume you know why a person does or does not do something is the only naive thing I'm reading in this thread. Does Ricky do a radio show for the money? Who the hell knows?! He may do it for the cash so he has some spending money on the side for something he doesn't kill his body for, and then again he may do it simply because it's an opportunity for him to get into contact with his fans, which he's seemed to have a penchant for in his later NFL years. Guys, stop assuming you know a mans motives. Unless it comes out of his mouth you're both wrong to assume you're on the proper side of this issue.

Sure Ricky is getting paid for it and he probably wouldn't do it for free. But again, how much do you think he's actually making? 3k an episode? that's not really a ton of money for a pro athelete who normally shuns the spotlight. so it just seems weird to me that he is doing this show, unless there was some reason other than "money" driving the decision. but whatever, it's not like I'm losing any sleep over it!!

If he didn't care about the money, then why hire the most cut-throat agent in the NFL today.

If he didn't care about the money why go on a press junket for a 30/30 documentary and promote it.

If he didn't care about the money, why play football? Just go teach yoga and go to college full time and keep getting degrees.

If he didn't care about the money why do a radio show.

Ricky cares about the money and he is getting paid for this radio show. Only a jackass would think otherwise

Wow i don't disagree or agree with you Mike but statements like that are the reason people get so pissed off at you on this board.

yeah well I was having a calm mature debate until some here took it into the gutter. So I went down to their level since that is the only way you can seem to reason with some. Go back and look at the thread and re-read it. I didn't take it there.

This is the same Ricky that retired twice and walked away from 8M.

This is the same Ricky that negotiated a sweetheart deal for the Phins on a post-it note.

I'm not sure money is ever the first thing on Ricky's mind. At least past actions really haven't backed that up.
