WFAN and 1050ESPN Radio in NY each had reports on this today from Jets sources,.... that the Jets are not in love with Jason Taylor. And that if Calvin Pace wasn't out for the first 5 or 6 games with his injury, they would have let him go already. The reports didn't give specific reason just that they aren't high on him for a variety of reasons.

That should be okay with Rex, as long as JT isn't eating cheeseburgers at the wrong time of day.

I don't think we'll even need him. I've been encouraged by the play of Wake, Misi, and Alama-Francis, although cutting Anderson confuses me. Regardless, JT would be no better than a backup to Wake at this point. If he'd be willing to accept that role and sign for the minimum, then I'd take him back. Otherwise, let him find someone else to play for.

I've been hatin' on JT for signing with the Jets. But if he thinks its a joke up there and is just mailing it in, then I'm happy to welcome him back as a Dolphin.

Perhaps your right. But I'm happy he's giving the Jets an attitude.
That's the rumor anyway....I haven't heard anything about it other than here which seems to be directly related to talk show fodder siting "team sources".... It could have been as simple as one player that is jealous of the attention JT gets making a comment to a beat writer or radio guy...
Personally I don't buy it until I hear it from someone a little more reputable. Don't really care one way or the other because it is happening (or not) to the Jeets but....
For as much talk the Jets defense generates....they don't really have any pass rushers that put fear into anyone. Pace is not a pass rushing threat. He has averaged a little over 4 sacks per year since coming into the league and has never had more than 8. Same goes for Bryan Thomas who had 2 sacks last year. They should be counting their blessings that they have JT who is better than any pass rusher they have even at his age. JT had 7 playing on the strong side last year.
Pace and Thomas are sound OLB's...just don't offer much of a pass rush. Pace is overpaid and overrated.

reminds of the 1994 Dolphins and the FA spending spree when we finished 10-6. There is just way too many distractions for the Jets this year and too much arrogance.

And 10-6 is bad? If the Jets go 10-6, I doubt we make the playoffs.

In 1994 we went 10-6 then got trounced in the first playoff round. That ended Shula's career. If that happens to the Jets, they will be deemed a huge failure, and Ryan may be shown the door.
To contrast, if we go 10-6 this year, Sparano will easily get another year.

Right I think we are off a year. That was the year Heizenga broke the bank on FAs (not '94). And we only went 9-7. And we got torched in the first playoff round.
The previous year we did OK, made it to the playoffs, won a game, then lost to San Diego in that heartbreaker.
