Then we should have used that 5th rounder we got for Ginn (1st round) for one. How are we in this position??? as I posted earlier, we blew our investment. We gave away one of our first round draft choice receivers for a fifth rounder. Oh by the way, the guy already made the NFL Hall of Fame, due to his two kick returns for TD in a single game (in the Jets game two last year).
Couldn't catch??? I know, but he sure could return.
That's how we're in this position...
Welker to the Pats, Taylor to the Jets, Ginn to San Francisco for a fifth, Camarillo to the Vikings (looked pretty good last night, also). We're starting to become a laughing stock around the league with these ridiculous transactions. Anybody else out there have any glaring needs? Come on down to Miami and mine us for some talent.
P.S. looks like Taylor is going to be starting for the Jets as a WSLB, anybody want to wager how many sacks he has against Henne?? Especially after I witnessed the brilliant performance of our protective offensive line against Atlanta.

Uhh...that's EXACTLY what we did. Nolan Carroll was drafted in the 5th round.
The Nollan Carroll "hype" has gone way too far. The guy only started 5 games in college. In 3 preseason games he hasn't been able to cover anybody. And he has had about 3 average kick returns. AND I AM NOT KNOCKING THE GUY, I AM GLAD HE IS A DOLPHIN!!!! But lets be honest about what he is.
I hate to break it to people but he looks like a 5th round pick right now. The fact he had a bunch of good "practices" picking off balls from the likes of Tyler Thigpen and Pat White really doesn't get me all that excited.
In a couple years could Carroll be a 3rd CB for us and maybe a threat as a kickoff return guy, sure. But in the year 2010 I don't want this guy anywhere near the field for this team on defense. And while I'm not toally down on him as a kick returner, if a better option came available I wouldn't be upset if we took him out of that role.

I think you are right. Marlon is a bit more physical than Bess, which means we may see less fair catches.

Because he has more potential than that and is better than anything we got
Carroll had one big return in the Jacksonville game where he showed great speed to the outside. He also almost broke the first return of the game this week. He is really fast. And he's done a solid job.
