If that's the case Sperry has better hands than the rest. That is for sure.

Yes, but not necessarily in that order. If Martin is fully back he may challenge Fasano for the starting job, or at least take the 2nd spot from Haynos.
I'm not convinced. In his last go-round as a Dolphin, it got so the opposition KNEW that we were going to pass when Martin was on the field, since this guy absolutely cannot block. A tight end should be able to do some of both, and Fasano sort of can, but Martin, while a good receiver, is a terrible blocker. Fasano and Martin complement each other only so well as Martin can block.
Martin and Fasano did a pretty good job two years ago and combine for almost 1000 yards and 10 TD's while splitting duties...not to bad from the TE position.
If he still has "it" at 30 yrs old, he could be a good addition to get on the field. He is basically a big WR (6'4 260) not a true TE.
Imagine the offense in single back, two TE formation with Marshall, Turner, Fasano and Martin. That is a large group of receivers to cover!
I like the pickup however why was their no interest in signing Martin by other teams. It seems he is only a one dimensional player as he does lack blocking skills, and I beleive he won't be as productive now that he is older and coming off of an in jury. So maybe he dosen't make the final roster. Maybe the brass will keep a player like Nalbone who is younger, and less expensive you never know for sure. I would say that the best 4 tight ends make the roaster, and we might already have them if not their is sure to be some available come final cut down day in September. I hear that the Bengals might release Chase Coffman who is really a better pass catching tight end than any of the backups we have behind Fasano. If he becomes available I would take Coffman over Martin any time.
Hearing reports that Martin must lose at least 15lbs and it will take him at least a month to drop that. So hopefully ready by week 1 but probably week 3 or 4 till he gets his legs under him at the proper weight.
I guess the Martin signing was because Fasano is having a lackluster start to camp and the coaches aren't pleased.
