Nolan-Sparano

Sparano said in his press conference there won't be drastic changes to our defense. He told Nolan from day 1 what he likes and Nolan has adjusted his scheme and meshed his ideas into the mold of what Sparano wants.

Not sure if this is good or bad. Just let Nolan do his thing. What Tony liked sucked last year.

Everything I have read or heard, suggests that we will be much more aggressive. The players certainly don't think they will be as conservative as they have been in the past.

Actually, the reason Paul Pasqualoni got canned was because he was uncomfortable coaching the style that Sparano wanted him too.

They had a meeting in January and decided that we will run what is most conducive for our personnel....a hybrid defense with 34 and 43 elements and man and cover 2 secondary.

I don't think it's as simple as Sparano telling Nolan what he wants and Nolan doing it. He picked Nolans brain and visa versa. It would be a total waste to bring a guy like Nolan here and not let him do what he does best. Sparano is smarter than that. Sure Tony has input but it will be a collaboration. He did not fire our DC and hire Nolan just to be a yes man.
