This is a moderated phorum for the CIVILIZED discussion of the Miami Dolphins. In this phorum, there are rules and moderators to make sure you abide by the rules. The moderators for this phorum are JC and Colonel.
Kevin Martin says the Dolphins should have stayed at 12 and taken Earl Thomas. He said trading back initially sounded like a good pick, but feels Koa did not bring enough value to make up for missing out on a premier safety.
Earl Thomas was the HOTTEST guy going in. Everyone wanted him. Dallas was gonna move up to get him. Philly had to have him. Miami was thinking about him. Cleveland maybe.
What happens, he falls to 14. Philly and Miami pass on him. Dallas stays put. And Cleveland takes another secondary player.
These teams say anything and everything EXCEPT the truth leading up to the draft. 14 isn't falling far, but for the hype around him prior, it almost is
The draft is not comical, all the mis-information before hand is. ET may or may not turn out to be a pro-bowl talent, but if that was gaurenteed then 13 other teams would of drafted him. We basically filled 3 positions by our trade down scenario, NT by sliding Starks inside, DE by taking Odrick and OLB by taking Misi........but just like I said with ET, thats provided they all pan out.
I just wonder who is playing where. Misi is said to be pretty good setting the edge. Wake is better at rushing the QB but Sporano has always wanted Wake at SOLB....go figure.
I think Misi gets a shot to be our SOLB with Wake as the pass rush specialist at WOLB.

I think Ireland tipped this off. He talked about Wake's better speed around the corner as a pass rusher, and how Misi is "tremendous" in coverage. So, just based on those 2 comments, Wake makes more sense at WOLB, and Misi makes more sense at SOLB. I think the only reason Wake played mostly SOLB last season was because Porter refused to be taken out of games.
