One thing that impressed me most that was continually flashed on the board was that although we were no. 22 in defense, on offense, we were only number 17. Not much better.
I don't have any problem with the safety pick and maybe the corner pick but to only pick one offensive lineman, no tight end and no running back, ridiculous draft!
I've said a million times we are at trouble at RB just wait and see but hmm, let see, we try to get the skilled positions from trade and use our draft (where you are supposed to get your stars) to draft linebackers? Unless you're talking Ray Lewis............
We got Ronnie and Ricky this year. We aren't in trouble at RB. We aren't in a place to be drafting a RB who will be 3rd on the depth chart and be wearing a baseball cap all year and add nothing.
And linebackers aren't stars??? Hmm, seems like everyone was bitching and moaning about our STAR linebacker signing with the Jets. Lots of crying over a non-star!! Please your lost on this issue

RESPONSE: Already said my position on this board a million times.

RESPONSE: Ray Lewis and Mike Singletary and a few others in history carry a team. Few do like Ricky and Ronnie.

RESPONSE: Not me. To me it was just a respect thing for JT.
Please your lost on this issue
RESPONSE: You sound like you are saying "Please, Chy, give up."
Why don't you try clicking your heels together three times and saying "There's no place like home, Auntie Em."

RESPONSE: Wow, MikeO, now you sound like ninety percent of the people on the board except me talking about your own football knowledge in general.
> Our defense was downright awful and you want us to

RESPONSE: Yeah, after all our defense at 22 is SO MUCH WORSE THAN OUR sterling No. 17 ranked offense.
I think the only positions on offense we could have used were guard, depth at RB, and TE. I'm fine with taking mostly D since it didn't look like there were players below the 3d round at those positions were drafting, except for TE
I agree with Chyren that this draft was a bit of a disappointment. I disagree over the reason why. I wouldn't have taken a single offensive player as I think we are bleeding on defense. In that respect I agree with Mike. We got Marshall for god's sake. That being said, I would have rather grabbed a future pro bowl FS in Thomas at #12 and then seen our draft play out the way it did from rounds 3-7.
I'm not sure if Odrick and Misi will make our defense better than having added a versatile, ball-hawking, shut down safety. When I think of why we lost games last year I think of Gibril Wilson. We have NOBODY to play FS, which is about as good as having Wilson there. Now, if Odrick and Misi can play safety, then I think we have something.

Because some people don't know anything about football. They don't understand how you build a team. That you can't address every little nit-picky NEED in one draft. And when your strong at RB, you can't go add a RB who won't play this year instead of adding a LB who MIGHT play and is NEEDED this year!!
miami added a lot of depth and youth to the defense. this defense will only get better and S is a piece that can be added next off season. this is a young defense with a good young core. i also want a ball hawking FS but i think that can be addressed next draft.

RESPONSE: Does that mean that LB is half our draft and we don't try to fill it at all in free agency?

Might be addressed June 1st when the Rams make a decision. Or if Daren Sharper (who spends a lot of time in S.Florida) is someone Mike Nolan can bring in. Nolan brought Brian Dawkins into Denver to help him run his young defense. Is Sharper that "dawkins-type" for Miami?! Maybe!
i like adding sharper or hamlin this year then drafting an elite FS in next years draft. unless of course clemons, jones, or culver develops(unlikely). i want DeAndre McDaniel next draft. he is sick.

RESPONSE: Then following your logic with one more year under his belt and the same injury prone Ronnie, NO DOUBT IN THE WORLD WE'LL BE IN THE TOP FIVE OFFENSES? NOT!
> Wake Up and walk into reality!!!
RESPONSE: "There you go again" Ronald Reagan. It's you who are sleepwalking if you think we can go into next season with a great young quarterback granted and a potentially good WR but with little else that does not depend on a wing and a prayer.
Have to agree with MikeO on almost all of his points. Very solid draft, and we are pretty set on O for this year, address RB/TE in next years draft. Anyone that can't get excited about all of the much needed additions this year will never be happy.
You want to draft 7 different positions in 7 different rounds and expect every guy to be a HOME RUN.....doesn't work that way. You don't get how the draft works and how you build an NFL team.

YOUR assumption.

RESPONSE: Easy. Like in most instances, you let the pre-season make the determination. You certainly are not arguing that no team ever drafts without making immediate decisions in April as to their expected roster.
It is even more easier in our case as Ronnie and Ricky's status remains uncertain.
