Dont know if this has already been said, but I didnt realize this until yesterday. My cousin is a 49ers fan and when they jumped ahead of us I just knew they would draft Earl Thomas (I was like F&CK and he was jumpin). Then they drafted anthony davis at #11 (swapped with broncos) and then I was like ahhh yall are morons we dont need an OT we got jake long, what a waste of a fourth rounder (ammo they used to jump us). I was thinking we got a baller safety but we traded out to 28. In the third round we drafted John Jerry (OT).

I then realized that we were going to pick Anthony davis at #12 to sure up that right side and the niners beat us to him. Kinda crazy that teams behind you know what you are going to draft...

Doubt it, I think the 9ers jumped us because of who our trading partners were gonna be, it was well known we were moving out of 12

John Jerry is playing guard for Miami according to Ireland.

Taking Smiley's place

Thats possible, but we traded with the chargers and they went RB. I think us taking Jerry is evidence that we were looking for OL. And that sanfran moved ahead of us and we then countered by moving out tells me that we had to go to plan B.

We were going to draft Davis...

I agree, it didnt make sense for the 49ers to jump us for Davis, especially after the Chargers pick was a RB.

1) Like you said we had an eye on taking Davis

2) We had another trading partner that wanted Davis, when the 49ers jumped us that took them out of trading with us and we closed the deal with the Chargers. This is possible, we were looking for a higher 1st in the trade then 28.

I am almost certain that we were not going to take Davis. Judging by the number of linebackers we drafted, I think we were hoping for McClain. After he was gone, we made the decision to trade down.
