Wasn't Fasano a Dallas TE as well? Would Bennett actually be better?
I watched Bennett on Hard Knocks back when he was a rookie. At least I'm about 90 percent it was him. He was a superb athlete, but lacked a few, shall we say, IQ points. His talent at TE was never a problem, it was his focus and playbook memorization that was a problem. Could be a non-issue now, with him being in the league for a few years. It's my opinion he's an upgrade over Fasano for sure.
Yea I have no concerns about him as an athlete, only his ability to adjust and pick up our scheme. He does that and he's someone we'll be cheering for, for quite a few years. I say go get him. Give them Smiley and a 6th? Lol

Non-issue? Isn't the intelligence factor what has been the knock on Tedd Ginn and Jason Allen? No, if he's a slow learner, I'd say just pass.
Except this cat can actually catch, and plays ball like a warrior. He's not afraid to go over the top and he gets YAC like it's his birthday. The IQ thing was simply referring to his problems with the schemes I witnessed during his rookie year on Hard Knocks. For all I know what I witnessed was nothing more severe than what all rookies that come into a new NFL system experience.
I remember watching Jones fawn over him like he was the best thing since sliced bread. But then reality sets in and the dumbass has finally realized he can't use the kid when he's got Witten. Could be a long term solution that falls into our laps. I certainly hope so.
