With JT leaving I guess we can scratch E Thomas off at 12

Arthur Jones DT from Syracuse in Rd 4 would be a steal.
I have watched this kid play here for years, he always seems to be dinged up a bit. But when healthy he was almost un-blockable most of the time. Saw him take over games playing on a bad team. He is someone I hope we grab in Rd 4, even in Rd 3 he wouldn't be awful.
Just not sure if Jones is a true NT in a 3-4 or if he is a better fit for a DT in a 4-3
If Gil Brandt is right, we weren't going to pick Thomas anyway. That wouldn't be much of a suprise.
But even if he's wrong and we were going to pick Thomas, why would JT leaving affect that? He doesn't have enough gas in the tank to be a 3 down player therefore he's not leaving much of a hole.
With JT gone we need a pass rusher in the worst way possible. I mean we can't get a pass rush now without blitzing. And if Wake pulls a hamstring or strains a muscle then we are totally screwed.
I think OLB in Rd 1 is a must.I don't even think its debatable anymore
A good part of the reason for our inept pass rush was the crappy coverage, both at cb and safety. Add in ILB problems and we had no chance to get to the QB, and play action also worked on 3rd down.
We now have dansby, and who knows he may end up playing some OLB in the schemes we run.
- Thus the defensive priority IMHO would be saftey , DT (impacts rush too), or NT in round #12.
- JT was not the answer foe every down at olb anyway ... so again I suggest that the Taylor issue does not push us out of our draft game plan (my opinion).
