Unless an Eric Berry drops to us which isn't going to happen we really should drop down and pick up a third unless Dez bryant is there and the real thing and not the next TO. Make a move with the Cards or Cowboys, Jerry Johnson wants Bryant. Play them againts each other to get the best deal.Picking up asn extra third can be big and get us 10 picks this year
Since we have many holes, the more picks the better, and the draft is deep

I'm all in favor of dropping down, but not to the late 20s like you mention for just an extra 3d. To drop down that far I want at least another 2 and another pick.
I think the best opp for a trade down is with a team who really wants Dez or an OL or Spiller---though if Dez is there, I think I want us to take him, baggage and all.
trading up into the top picks usually doesn't happen, but we still could see it, but doubtful, but we could drop down unless the points actually make it not feasible. As A&O states it is all about how teams value the players available and whether say the Cowboys are sold on Bryant, and ther Phins think Tate or Thomas are just as good and we can pick up another player or two.
What do those who said "Thigpen isn't worth anything" think of the Charlie Whitehurst trade & signing, a guy that has never played a regualar season game and wasn't anyhting special in college? That shows vet value is higher than unproven rookies, and value is in the eye of the beholder.
Cards could use McClain, Cowboys Bryant.
If Bryant is ther next Andre Johnson hopefully we figure that out by draft date! Based on Gil Brandt and many others, I think Tate is the safest bet.
The chart is still used but it is outdated. Teams in the Top 10 or so have to pay rookies SO MUCH MONEY NOW, moving up into the Top 10 is easier than ever.
Problem is no team is dumb enough to move up into the Top 10. Cause you gotta give up picks and then pay a rookie a boatload of money.
Until the rookie wage scale is put in place, "THE CHART" is not as powerful as it once was. Because if you are willing to move up to the top 10, throw the chart out the window and teams will take less to slide down and save $$$$$$$
