I see Moore as an overachiever, ala Greg Camarillo. I was sad to see us let Camarillo go. I think, like Camarillo, Moore has the ability to be "just good enough" and put up good stats as long as the competition isn't too tough. I think it's entire possible that Moore beats out Garrard, and RT won't likely start on day 1. So, I think Moore could be our guy, at least for a good chunk of the season.

I still can't see the "shame." Where is the Shame, A & O? There's no shame. No shame.
Posted a link on another thresad, but 1st impression in philbin's post draft interview with ireland he said zac taylor (asst QB coach) told Philbin that Tannehill was done learning the offense after a 3 hour session from 7-10 a.m his first day.
Philbin said he expected there wasn't another player in the 253 chosen that was likely as comfortable as RT the first day.
We'll see if that remains when they get the pads on, but sounds like a good initial impression.
Philbin tongue in cheek said they may need to change the coaching meetings cause it took them about 3 months. lol

It would be a shame if he got injured or wasted time developing his qb skills to run routes. I don't think you draft your franchise quarterback and play him as a receiver. However, in the worst case scenario, if Tannehill doesn't pan out at quarterback, then he can be tried at receiver. I don't expect it will come to that though.

I feel like the great carnack from Johnny Carson, judging by your answer, I can already tell you the stupid explanation of why the Dolphins really drafted Tannehill #8 overall

But berk. Can you say that in today's world where the rules coddle the receivers but the quarterback is fair game to get the hell knocked out of him that the risk of injury to a receiver is anywhere close to the risk at QB.
And true, the risk is nill on the bench but at some point, even at QB, you're going to have to play him to find out what he's worth.
It's not like you can sit him on the bench for a year or even half a season and say "Okay. It's time. Get in there."
True wide receiver playing time is not going to fill that experience need.
But the point is that sitting on the bench so he won't get injured won'f fill that need either.
Plus playing receiver like he did in college does give him some experience with the routes in the offense.
I think it's a "win-win" situation.
However, there are posters who believe it's a "come-down" or even a "put-down."
I don't see that.
I see it as a great opportunity to work him into the pro football world, get practical experience and be ready to take over.
Moreover, if as Mark has convinced me, Moore is toast and we have to rely on David Gerrard, then that should probably come quicker than most people think.
you lost me at the first sentence CB. in today's nfl you're not allowed to touch the qb.
who say's he's an nfl caliber wr anyway? he runs a 4.6 40. he probably wouldn't have been drafted as a WR had he stayed at that position

I see it differently, berk. You look at the hits on the QB and compare them with the hits on the WR.
Yes, you can't hit the QB after a period of time when the ball has left his hand but he gets his a_ _ kicked most of the time because either he's sacked, which is fair game, or the ball has JUST left his hands so the defensive guy can say that his momentum carried him into the QB when the ball was still in the QB's hand.
The receiver, on the other hand, can only be bumped on the line of scrimmage.
He can't be touched while the ball is in the air.
Once he does catch the ball, if you hit him high enough and go up to his head, then you're in for a big penalty.
The receiver is FAR MORE PROTECTED in today's football than the QB.
> who say's he's an nfl caliber wr anyway?
True. Good point. But he's not to be regarded as your savior at the position.

Wes Welker ain't that fast either.

True. But I'm not saying that if we had drafted Andrew Luck and had drafted every other position that we wanted, we should even have wasted a sixth round pick on RT as a WR.
What I AM saying is if he is here why sit him on the bench.

I'm really sick of all these analysts and sports writers. I suppose this particular one has a time machine and moved ahead to the preseason. Or maybe he can mind read Joe Philbin himself?
I'd laugh if the shiny new toy outplays both vets in preseason and is declared the starter come regular season. For now I'll continue to shoot spitballs out of my straw at these analyst clowns when I'm watching TV.
