so now we can take BPA in the draft--I'd like to draft the LB from Michigan, but would be happy with anyone that's not Dan Williams or McClain (who I think is way overrated)

Adam Shefter just reported it looks like the deal will go down between the Miami Dolphins and Karlos Dansby. Should get announced early tomorrow morning. Just heard it on NFL Live. God I hope this doesn't fall through at the last minute...

YESSSSS! Nice Move Jeff!

Next up WR, NT and FS and another OLB or ILB if Dansby plays SOLB!

Steep, but at least we got em. I'm really excited we didn't fizzle out and lose our nerve. The draft just got a lot more interesting. Go Dolphins!!!

from AZ paper

Dansby the newest Dolphin
Posted by darrenurban on March 5, 2010 – 6:15 pm

On the heels of the Anquan Boldin trade comes the news linebacker Karlos Dansby has signed a five-year deal with the Dolphins, one that ESPN is reporting is worth $43 million with $22 million in guarantees. Nothing close to the $30 million in guarantees Dansby was supposedly seeking, but pretty good nonetheless. The Cards are bringing Larry Foote in for a visit next week and I would guess he’d be priority No. 1 to replace Karlos. In the end, I guess the Cards’ final pitches to Karlos fell on deaf ears. No giant surprise the Cards lost ‘Los, but given that it was also on a Q-traded day, a difficult few hours for Cards’ fans.

Great move by Miami.

Bye-Bye McCalin in the draft. We now look at NT, S, or WR at 12. Im guessing NT and maybe the Williams kid from Tenn

I love this signing. 22 million in an uncapped year, 5 year deal with manageable numbers once the cap is back in place.

This helps our draft options.

And as much as I don't really like CRowder's play...Dansby will make Crowder better.

OLB in draft. Count on it.

Why not still draft McClain?

This is good news! Let's hope he turns out better than the other free agents. I now think that Earl Thomas is our first pick.

no McClain.....to many other needs we still have to address. NT, S, WR, and OLB

Dansby and Crowder on the inside is good for this year. We need someone to play opposite Wake and split time with JT. And we need a NT in the worst way. Not to mention a playmaker at WR

MLB is no longer an issue. BYE-BYE McClain!

And by the way, McClain will probably be a Phin now that Mike said he wouldn't. Everything Mike says is the exact opposite of the truth or what really happens, so guess it looks like McClain will be a Phin.

McClain could be the outside guy they draft.

He isn't a solid inside stopper, but on the outside, his speed, knowledge and sure tackling would be a hug asset.

I've said several times...I think they draft NT; but, if they don't McClain as OLB or Pierre Paul would be nice moves.

With the Dansby signing, I would now pursue Ryan Clark. If I got him then I would take the best receiver available with pick 12. Ideally Bryant, but perhaps Benn, Tate, or Thomas after a possible trade back. I love Demaryus Thomas. Then you get the next best NT with the 2nd pick. Cam Thomas fits the bill. Then get more linebackers and best available players.

I'm still sticking with McClain as my top choice.

Dansby may actually be used as a strongside LB. At least, that is what the price tag would suggest.

JT & Wake back on the Weakside.
