Landing Dansby & Ryan Clark and Ray Edwards would be big. If we can trade for a big play WR that would make the draft interesting where we could see us take a RB like Spiller, Dwyer, gerhart, Best,or take a Taylor Mays or Dan Williams. maybe even trade Ronnie,
Dansby is a good playmaking ILB. The Steelers have said that signing Casey Hampton is a "low priority". Antonio Bryant is to be a FA.
Adding those three would be a coup in FA and highly unlikely but it sure would free us up in the draft.
I saw on one web site that Eric Berry may slide due to the top 11 teams other needs at OT, pass rushers and QB. The top two tackles are gone for sure. That would be nice.
Seattle could land a QB and an OT. They only have one pick before us and a QB and OT represent more value than a Safety. If you have a need for a QB and you are drafting at #6, you almost have to get a QB. Ed Reed wasn't drafted until 24.
You are right it is unlikely that he drops but it is very possible.
drafting a QB at #6 is risky if your taking a QB cause you just need a QB and aren't in love with the player. They could wait till round 2 and get better value for a QB. Taking a QB that high means big $$$$ and big risk. If you mess up, it sets your franchise back for years.
I don't think Berry gets past Cleveland if he falls at all
Unless carroll is sold on Clausen or bradford I don't expect the to take a QB. Will likley go Buluga or Iupati or Taylor mays with the second pick. Eveyone says berry is one of the top 3 athletes in the draft. I would love to get him, but Seattle or Cleveland likely won't pass.
guys like McCoy & lefevour will be there in the second(see Chad Henne)
Yeah. You never know how it will unfold but the Browns and Seahawks have many needs.
Seattle doesn't even have a RB. I would not be surprised to see them take CJ Spiller. Their O-line is terrible. They need a QB, RB and OT.
Cleveland doesn't have a QB or a #1 WR....They had a backup RB set the NFL record for yards per game but I don't know that they view him as the long term solution.
I would love if they sign a free agent ILB. that keeps our draft options wide open.
Willis McGahee? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!! he may be talented at times; but, he disappears for weeks. Also, a couple times in Buffalo he came out of the huddle forgetting down & distance. Including a key 4th down in which he took the sideline because he didn't know/forgot it was 4th down. Ummm ?? NO!!

He may be a decent WILB, but so may Crowder. Crowder played OLB in a 4-3. So did Torbor. An OLB in a 4-3 usually becomes an ILB in a 3-4, but I wouldn't put him in the Mike position.
BERRY is waaaaaaaay off the board by our selection.
Maybe we'll swing a deal with OAKLAND and grab him #9, if OAKLAND intends to take an OT they'll be fine trading down IMHO there are a handful of Ts available mid round.
How would one of these LB'ing crews look in Miami.....????
LOLB Karlos Dansby
LILB Rolando McClain
RILB Channing Crowder
ROLB Jason Taylor/Cameron Wake
or
LOLB Ricky Sapp
LILB Karlos Dansby
RILB Rolando McClain
ROLB Jason Taylor/Cameron Wake
I didn't list other LB'er prospects only bc I think the FO sticks to the bigger is better rule and they like prototypical sizes at LB'er...6'2 minimum and 240 lbs minimum.
