Who else thought this guy SUUUUUUUCKED as an announcer last night. The SUPERBOWL deserves the best of the best. My favorite part was when he said "INCOMPLETE", so infatically, while the 2 -point coversion was being replayed. As he spoke the replay was contradicting him and showing a great effort by the receiver. And then he spent the next 5 minutes BACK-PEDALING. What a duesch.

No my favorite was when with 1:45 left he said that atleast the saints can be happy they made it assuming that the colts were gonna come back and win the game giving the Saints no shot to finish the game

sarcasm is so hard to detect sometimes.

I agree. Even his explanation was in correct. Christ, the replay was clear. Receiver had the ball secure in his hands and broke the plain not once but twice. Clear as day on the replay.
Simms would be okay if he would just stop with he "greater than thou" crap about Manning. And I really do like Manning but was glad he lost just to show the world there is more to football than the passing game.

Gotta love the "Phil-osophy" segments.

Simms was fine last night. Called a perfect game for an announcer. Right down the middle. No outlandish statments. And he gets ripped.

Unreal

Simms was horrible last night, like he usually is. One of the first plays, Freeney splits a double team, flushes Brees and almost sacks him, and he says the injured ankle is clearly affecting his play. Everyone in the room watching the game looked at each other and said "huh?" He then spent a large portion of the rest of the half explaining how the Saints had to double team him because it didn't look like the ankle was giving him problems.

Simm's is fine. Have no problem with his commentating. I don't know of anyone that is any better with the experience/credibility to talk about it. So he made a mistake....no big deal.

Jon Gruden, much, much better.

agreed GRUDEN is waaaaaay better,actually funny sometimes and real insight on modern players.

Simms is not the worst, that goes to Matt Millen but I would have preferred listening to Gruden. But then I like some humor with the commentary.
