His biggest problem is that he plays upright with his nose in the air.
A LB needs to be in a low position attacking with his forehead ready to drop the boom and stuff the hole.
Channing is running upright which means it takes longer to adjust to change of direction ( making his slower) and he is in a position which may allow him to make the tackle; but, it allows the runner to push him backwards and better able to break the tackle.
LB's and RB's are often mirror images of each other. Imagine a RB coming through the LOS in an upright position. he would be too slow and would get nailed.

No, He is huge what are you talking about
His problem is he's slow, over runs his gaps all the time, i dont think he has a high football IQ, and the guy just doesnt get any picks, sacks or forced fumbles
I don't think anything's happened to him. He was brought in as a run-stuffing ILB, and that what he is. We know this because when he was hurt last year, opposing teams' rushing totals and yards per carry skyrocketed. He is, however constantly exposed in the passing game because he is slow as molasses in January. I think he was poorly used this year. If we can get an ILB with speed that can cover, and expose Crowder as little as possible, I think he can be a monster for us in the middle.
Nothing happened to him. He has never been that good. Under Zach he was overlooked but when Zach left the attention was on him and now people are asking what happened? Well, nothing happened mediocre at best.
I don't think he fits in a 4-3 at all. He proved he was not a playmaker on the outside, and he proved he couldn't handle the MLB position. I think his only hope is the 3-4. And he has no pass rushing skill whatsoever, so he can't play OLB in the 3-4. And in the last 2 years, he's proven he can't play the Mike. Hopefully, he'll slide to Ayodele's Ted role, and maybe become a good player. He's smart and athletic. But, he has no instincts at all. A player Zach Thomas would diagnose the play quickly and fill the whole. Crowder can't do that. He waits for the play to come to him, and he doesn't shed blockers well. Maybe the Ted role will suit him.
