I think Bob Sutton might be a great fit.

He was hired by Al Groh, and not Rex Ryan in a guy to work with LB's.so his loyalties may not be that tight to Rex. ESPECIALLY if Rex is a 'hands on' HC with a Defense background.

He has coached a 3-4, and has worked with some very good LB's.

Bowles has experience, but, to be honest...our secondary has been weak a while under his watch. Maybe it wasn't his fault in that the Front Office signed Gibril, and Will Allen got hurt...but...there was a lot of communication breakdown and assignment screw-up....which is less about talent.

Sutton was the DC for the Jets for a couple years. They were in the middle of the league those years. Mangini's coaching would have impacted his role to some extent.

58 isn't a young fresh guy...but he's still in his coaching prime.

Bowles is 46...I wouldn't be upset if they promote him...but...I wish he had done the job at the college level at least. He is pretty inexperienced.

The lone fact that he got Army up to 24th in the nation means he knows how to work with limited talent and mold people into positions. I'd put my stamp on his hiring for sure.

I'm certain we're not...he's clearly an important part of a defense that looks every bit the PIT/BAL part.
