I watched the BCS game and to behonest...McClain looks good...but I wasn't impressed enough that he becomes the 12th pick over-all.
I know it was 1 game. But I saw a lot of reading and lateral tracking and not a lot of vertical attacking. He may have been coached to play that way...but I want a guy who steps into the hole and blows up the runner.
I think the Combine will cause a couple guys to climb in the rankings and I think McClain is one of the guys who will drop.
I think if McClain is there, then this front office will take the LB over the WR. I believe they would consider Bryant if they find him to be polished enough, and there was no major impact LB available. AS it stands now, WR is much deeper than ILB. So, if both guys are there, they'd take McClain and get a WR in round 2.

I watched Rolando Mcclain in person when we played them in Atlanta and for as impressive as he looks on television, he is even more impressive to watch in person.

We got lucky because Smith didn't play for a high-profile school.
I'm not sure we'll have the same luck with Spikes.
Because of our DRAFT position (within range of ROOKIE STARTER talent) This may be the draft where we see the Dolphins trading away future picks to move up. IMHO the time is NOW!
Lets MILK this draft dry. We need..UPGRADES ILB, OLB, TE, NT, WR, FS

Yes, it certainly seems to be the best time in the last 10 years.

We NEED McLain!! ILB is our biggest need.
With a new DC, we may be able to make due with the OLBs and Safties we
have.
We also may be able to pick up a NT in FA, if not the draft, or, perhaps, survive another season platooning Soliai, Starks, and McDaniel (or, maybe, Ferguson will come back?). I wonder if Starks could put on a little weight and take over at NT fulltime? It would be great to get our best 3 D-Linemen (Langford, Starks, Merling) in the game at the same time more often.
We MIGHT be ok at TE for another year with Fasano, Haynos, and Sperry. I'm,also, still wondering if Turner can convert to TE.
As for WR, I don't think we'll find our future #1 in the draft this year.
