In a few threads people have talked about player trades and draft trades.

IMO...from our history since Free Agency with Shula, JJ, Wanny, Saban, Cameron and now Sparano I think I am convinced of the following formula.

You Trade 1st, and 2nd round picks for picks in similar rounds. NOT for players. They are too high priced.

You trade 4th - 6th rounders for depth via players and picks. We had Martin and traded for Fasano.

You trade players for picks.

You sign players marquee players in free agency and don't give up picks.

You don't trade picks for players until you are indeed 1 piece away.

The only players I would give up our 1st round pick for? Would cost mre than that! I would trade our 1st rounder for Andre Johnson. They would never do it. I can't think of any WR's for whom I would give our 1st, that the other team would accept.

We have so many needs on Defense that I can't imagine giving picks up for 1 marquee guy.

In this year's draft we grabbed 3 guys that will be starting for us next year. Davis,Smith and Hartline. And I believe Turner and Clemons will eventually get to contribute more.

In the upcoming draft I fully anticipate them finding 3 more starters.

I would welcome a trade down scenario ( I do every year).

INterestingly we are currently in the 15th spot in the draft order. BUT....

...if we lose to Pittsburgh, Carolina beats the Saints (who are resting their starters),the Titans beat Seatle, Jax beats Cleveland, and Chicago beats Detroit....

we would be tied with Chicago for the 10th spot. All of those are likely.

So....is a win over Pittsburgh worth 4 draft spots? ...hate to say it...but I would not cry if we lost and moved 4 spots up the draft order.

Andre Johnson or Larry Fitzgerald. That's it!

Under some of the past regimes I would say get rid of all our draft picks because they couldn't do anything with them anyways, but this regime seems to know what they're doing so I would agree with your thoughts
