I did this real quick but others who follow this stuff please add to this so we can work this out.

There are 6 teams ahead of us Broncos, jets, ravens, steelers, texans and titans (all at 8-7) then we have us and jags at (7-8)

What we need for gaurentee spot (however other possibilities)
1. Need to beat pittsburg
2. Need jets to lose (with out these two we are likely out)
(a jets loss and miami win means that we own tie breaker due to divisional record)

3. Need losses by Broncos, Ravens, texans, titans and jags
(Afc south divisional records are texans (1-5) titans (2-4) and jags (3-3)) If jags win and other two loses jags will win and they will represent there division in the wild card and have the best confererence record of remaining teams so if above happens and they win they are the #5 seed. This is why we need them to also lose so that the titans will represent there division and they have a 4-8 conference which is terrible and we will have the advantage at 6-6 conference record)
The broncos have no competition in there division (with regard to wildcard placing) and will finish at 6-6 in the conference
The steelers and ravens will be tied however the ravens will represent their division since the have a better divisional record.

So if all the above happens we will be down to the divisional representers: dolphins (afc east) the ravens (afc north) and the titans (afc south) and the broncos (afc west) all would have 8-8 records so would come down to conference records
dolphins 6-6, ravens 6-6, the broncos at 6-6, and titans 4-8. Since the titans have a worst record they are eliminated and it would be down to the dolphins, ravens and broncos which would be strenght of schedule since not enough common opponents- as of today- dolphins (53-67) ravens (47-73) and broncos (62-58) so broncos would be a 5 seed and fish would be a #6 so playoffs is possible but highly improbable...

There are other senerios but the above represents the best case for the dolphins to get in. If anyone has additions please make it or alternative senerios please state them so we know who to root for or against.
