I see at best 2 wins here--and that would require at least one upset if not 2
Sunday, Dec 06 Patriots
Sunday, Dec 13 @ Jaguars
Sunday, Dec 20 @ Titans
Sunday, Dec 27 Texans
Sunday, Jan 03 Steelers
beating Pats and Steelers will be very tough, and those are at home. Titans are playing some of the best ball in the league right now, and its at Tenn. Houston always beats us, but I think we are due against them. Maybe the Jags, but it's on the road. If you think any more than 2 wins you are not looking at it objectively.
If we don't win 3 more games you will see some big changes on defense, mostly coaching.
That has been the problem the whole season. We all like to talk offense and the need for WR, but the D has caused at least 3 losses. Colts, Saints, Bills. That really sucks.

I'd like to see coaching changes regardless of how many games we win down the stretch. I don't see us making the playoffs this year, and that blame goes squarely on the defense. 3 more wins and we'd be looking at an AFC East title.

If we beat NE this weekend, I believe this team will get hot and make the playoffs. I think we're going to see a different offensive scheme this week after what NO did to them Monday night. I know we don't have the offense NO does but there was a lot of misdirection that confused the young NE defense. Many of Bree's passes didn't require pinpoint precision.
If we lose to NE this weekend, I think this team folds and may win 2 more games and lose to the playoff contenders.
the buffalo game was not only a loss pushing us under .500, it was a loss w/in the division. even if we win this Sunday v the patriots, we need help... losing last week told me that we aren't ready to make a run THROUGH the playoffs, not just to it.
our remaining schedule is brutal, and dont kill me for saying this but an 8-8 team is not where i want to be. under, okay... over even better. football is a game of chess not checkers, im happy seeing our secondary come together, but its evident we still need help at LB and WR. take care of that and we're ready to make a run.
"I don't really care what happened in the past, I'm not afraid of challenges. I look forward to them." - T. Sparano
At times (1st half of the N.O. game in particular) our defense has looked really good. I remember them flying to the ball, laying good solid hits on WR's, and pressuring the QB. Do that for 2 halves this week and we win. It can happen AND if it does, success breeds success, confidence breeds confidence. Who knows?
We did give it up in the fourth quarter...just like we have in all but two of our losses.
However, and I hate to bring it up, we were absolutely raped by the officials in that game. If called correctly, the pass at the end of the half runs the clock out (no TD) and the fumble by Sharper through the endzone gives us the ball back on the 20 (no TD). We're still up 24-3 with the ball at the start of the 3rd quarter....again, Who knows?
I see a different team every week. When we're playing good teams, we play good football. When we're playing bad/mediocre teams we play bad/mediocre football.
I think Sunday's game will be close going into the fourth quarter, and historically doesn't bode well for us. Sparano isn't couting us out of the playoffs yet so maybe he thinks he can get them to finish a game.
A win against JAX would put the playoffs in a frenzy, and (like the win against NE) perhaps the energy back into this team.
Home record:
63% win rate (5 of 8) over all at home games
Away record:
20% only one win on the road (and 1 of 5 overall)
Forecast with 2 away and 2
The opportunity to beat the trend lies in Miami's next 2 games (JAX & Ten) - both away and the last 2 are at home.
***********
1. I was wrong on NE and glad to have been so. They found a way to win and a way to finish in the 4th Qtr.
- They did so by doing something different ... rotating Wake in more and keeping Taylor and porter fresh.
- This pressure showed up in the 4th Qtr when we needed it.
2. A win against JAX is a must or we're toast.
- Maybe that's what the team needs to know.
- If they win the mnomentum and mindset changes all.
3. We still need help with a NE loss in most scenarios & have to keep the string alive by winning out.
- Daunting task at hand

Forget that, just imagine if in Week 1 on Monday Night if Leodias McElvin took a knee in the endzone and just ended that game. That's another loss (division loss) on New England's record and we have an easier road to the division title.
