Arrelious Benn declares for the NFL...

Everybody who knows this guy knows he has all the talent in the world, stuck on a horrendous team. If he would have commited to a major program he would be a top 10 pick, maybe top 5.

Benn-6'2-220

I think this guy is the next Andre Johnson/Larry Fitzegerald. He is a monster.

Benn, AJ Green, Julio Jones & Dez Bryant are gonna be the next generation of great WR's. If he is available when we pick I think we should pick him no doubt.

thanks--I'm always wary of WRs who don't put up big #s in college but who have great measurables--most of the time it seems those guys don't pan out. I'd rather have a big-time producer who lacked ideal size or something

I must say aqua I think we finally agree on a wr... kinda scarry.

Yes ben is an absolute BEAST!!! he is my second fav reciever for us (will post #1 later). He has good speed, solid hands and is built like a TE. He can block which is pivotal to be a top running team and can get open. He has "the juice" as a qb who couldnt read a childrens book let alone a defensive coverage (this is why he didnt put up huge number)

Great call aqua. I would love to get my grimey hands on ben. If he is around when we pick it would be a steal. Since illinois struggled would not be surpirsed to see him still around in the second but no question he has top 10 talent.

Ginn, ben, bess... oh yeah that check mate. Please excuse me while I go to the bathroom to relieve myself. grinning smiley

Berkely, the thing is, he did put up good numbers his freshman and sophomore years, it was just this past year in that horrible system his numbers dropped.

yeah dudes a monster... I think DB's would think twice about hitting this guy coming across the middle.

The only thing is I am sure that his stock will rise after the combine unless he cant run a 4.5 something. I expect him to run a 4.65 and drop to the second third round and will be a huge steal for who ever picks this guy up because he is a football player.

Yeah, I bet he runs at the slowest a 4.50.

Hum, i dont know. I dont think people realize how difficult it is to run a 4.5

If you look at mario manningham he has great break away game speed. But his 40 time was i think a 4.67 and he fell from #1 overall reciever to the third round. I think people get to caught up with speed, truth be told that I would rather have a slower hinez ward then the speedy ted ginn.

We will see what he runs, i dont know if I am rooting for him to post a good time or not since I would rather have him as an option in the second.

Hey berkley, i would not get caught up with highlight film. THis is one guy that will not blow you away when you watch his film. You need to watch him play a whole game to see what type of creature he is.

Maybe he runs a 4.4 or 4.5 but remember the whole thing about manufactured speed- he is not really that fast. Ronnie brown ran a 4.45 at the combines and ricky williams ran a 4.4 flat at the combines. I am sure that we can all agree that ricky's game speed makes ronnie look like he is running is slow motion although their 40 times are virtually identical. If they raced in the 40 you would not be able to tell who who won since the difference is 5 hundredths of a second!

Thats almost as fast as some of you cats can last when your not on your viagra pills... smiling bouncing smileysmiling bouncing smileysmiling bouncing smiley

Benn is a beast. I watched alot of his games when he was a true freshamn and he always looked liked the best player on the field. This guy is gonna be a star for sure. If he would have commited to Florida, USC, Texas or any other major program that could have effectively used his skills he would no doubt be a top 10 pick.

See, exactly my point.

So Futt, I guess you are in favor of Arrelious Benn rocking a Dolphin jersey next season, maybe?

The local Chi-town sports guy said he should be the 3rd WR taken after Dez and Tate, sound right? If so he should be there later in the 1st I would think.
