How are we feeling about the Randy Moss saga?
Posted by: Phinjim ()

For the life of me I can't understand the drama around having a peer (Welker doing well) it only makes vo=coverage easier for Moss.

Getting the panties in a bunch over how many get thrown your way to the point of dogging it is just beyond me.

Thoughts?

What do you think Bellicheat will do about it if anything?

I think Moss is angry over getting sent home Monday. Bellicheat treated one of the greatest veteran WR's in the league like a high schooler. It pissed Moss off

An interesting but stupid standoff ... likely to not help anything but bruised egos.

It's about time the BS catches up with NE. About time for them to start coming apart at the seams with a bit of adversity.

Moss has always been a competitor, and your #1 receiver SHOULD want the ball more. I don't see Moss on the level of T.O. where he's a cancer in the lockerroom, but I wouldn't mind a bit if this hurts NE. In fact, I wonder if NE would be open to trading Moss to us?

Moss has quit on teams before; he did it toward the end in Minnesota and he dogged it for practically the whole time he was in Oakland. Say what you will about TO being a locker room cancer, and I certainly don't want the Dolphins to get within five time zones of signing him, but I don't think anyone has ever accused TO of dogging it during games.

If Moss were to become available, I suspect (and hope) that Parcells and co. will say "oh, how interesting. NEXT!"

As for how Belicheat will handle this, I think he's ballsy enough to sit Moss down for a game. The trouble with that is, if you're going to do that you might as well shut Moss down for the rest of the season, because Moss is not going to respond well to further disciplinary measures.

No chance in hell NE would trade any player to Miami that would help Miami in the slightest. It would be like the Yankees sending someone to the Red Sox, it just doesn't happen.

Lets see it all unravel when T.O. gets more yards and they lose to the lowly Bills this Sunday.

I personally don't want Moss on Miami.

Moss is coming to the realization that he probably won't be getting his SB ring in New England which is why he went there to begin with. I think the elite players can be controlled by BP. Look how Jason Taylor came around after losing the pissing contest.

Moss is the canary in the Bellicheat mine

My take is that Bellicheat was embarrassed by his idiotic 4th & 2 call, which he refused to own. He threw the players under the bus by syaing ti was the right call and the players didn't execute it.

Then they get embarrassed by the Saints and he pulls his starters for the last two offensive series...Think that didn't sting the players?

Then they lose to us by one point, earlier in the game he declines the FG attempt and goes for it on 4th & 1...and they don't get it. And Bill talks about the team squandering opportunities and everyone needing to work harder.

THEN he sens 4 guys home for being late for a meeting because of snow. That sends the message that HE is going to 'whip them into shape' and fix the problem.

The Egomaniac failed to shoulder the appropriate amount of blame for their losses and has pointed the finger at his players.

HE HAS LOST the team!

Moss didn't speak publicly like Adalius Thomas did...but his actions spoke loud enough.

Bill still has a shot of fixing it and regaining his locker-room.....but...there is a greater chance that the damage. The locker room will soon divide between the Bill syncophants and the guys who feel wronged by him...and some competitive guys stuck in the middle.

Hopefully the are all feeling like they are not Superbowl bound and are getting discouraged and Bill's arrogance is pissing them off.

Moss is pretty much done. He is in his 30's. He MIGHT have another year in him. He would help us because we have a lack of talent...but I wouldn't give up any picks because he would be a 1 year fix. If he gets himself released I would sign him.

Though it was truly unusual for a NE Pat to speak out against Bellicheat ... Thomas was absolutely right on in what he said.

It is nev er bellicheat it is always someone else's fault. He was successful in getting the team to rally over his cheating spree with an "us against the world theme".

Wonder how he's going to spin this one.

Moss is a jerk. Throws water on a ref. Ran over a traffic cop. Took off players in Oakland.

He is another ass clown who doesn't "get it".

Hey, history buffs, help me out.

I remember years back on draft day salivating because Randy Moss (who had a "this guy looks like trouble" rep) was falling down to the point we could have picked him at 22. I remember we traded back to something like 28. I also remember some type of trade being made with Green Bay. I went nuts because it meant we effectively passed on Moss too.

Just what was the 411?

Actually we picked 19, traded back to 28th, picked John Avery, and Moss went at 21 to Minnesota.

I believe thats how it went.

Oh yeah, and that trade we made was with Green Bay who tunred around and picked Vonnie Holliday at #19.

I get your point but stick over the words "well respected players demeaned themselves" .

In context of NE fans I get it, but they remain demeaned long before this in my book.

I do however get a kick out of watching Bellicheat and Brady Kiss ass to moss vs their normal arrogant demeanors. It in effect reveals more widely their characters.

Well MikeO, I'm sure I don't know as much about Peter King as you, since no one knows as much about anything as you. I do know that Peter King is a fat old sports reporter and Randy Moss would probably beat the crap out of him if Peter King called him a pussy to his face. But you probably know that Peter King is a 10th degree black belt or something.

That is actually the author's point I was quoting from the article.

in mine too, of course.

hahaha who doesn't! As a Boston area resident I am loving this. I'm willing to bet the sports fans around here are starting to pay a little more attention to the Celtics right now, which is remarkable given that the Pats still have the division lead.

Boston are has been pretty spoiled of late with winners in 3 major sports teams ...

Tumble from the top is tough ...

Had to have been hard to swallow last year when they lost the division to Miami.

If miami beats them out again we may be se a feww falling on their sword.

No.... we just trade players, Welker, Izzo etc, to the Pats who produce. One of the greatest injustices in the NFL is that Larry Izzo has 3 Super Bowl rings and Zach Thomas has 0!!!

we cut izzo. welker wasn't really a trade, they signed him as a restricted FA and we didn't match. I think we got an extra 6th rounder for trading him instead of not matching, as I recall it was because there was a possibly illegal poison pill in the contract they didn't want to us challege?

I wonder if there's ever been a real "trade" between any team in the AFC east?
