Carolina's Oline Injuries

With their best lineman in Gross being lost for the season, they are vulnerable for sure.

Hopefully Ferguson is healthy and we make Delhomme beat us...Steve Smith is banged up also.

Could be the break we need!

Their o-line is the best in football. They run it on everyone. Gross is a huge loss that will help us. We MUST HAVE FERGUSON healthy to have a chance. gotta slow down the run and force Delhomme to pass. Delhomme has been getting better these past few weeks but he still sucks overall

The key as always is for us to control the ball. That is something we have done well until the last two games. Our OL must rise to the occasion with the run and pass protect for Henne to have a chance.

Our D, of coarse Mike, also needs to stop their run.

Sounds easy enough, now just go out and DO IT!hot smiley

Looking at the NFL stats is interesting.

Their run defense is 25th in the league.

Their pass defense is 4th.

....when sorted by yards per game.

BUT....when you sort by completion percetage allowed?

They are 8th worst in the league. Teams aren't passing on them because the run is working.

This is a game where Henne could have the opportunity to stay in the game more, and play normal football.

Save Pat White for Pats part 2; Ricky starts, Hilliard spells him off, and Henne runs a conventional offense.

Its a good match-up.

Perfectly put. Let Henne play more of a conventional offense for this game. Put in no more than 8 wildcat plays. Use a few screens, maybe to Sheets. Screens are something we have done very little of this year. Love Ronnie but Ricky will be just fine!

If in Week 11 we are throwing or using this guy named Sheets.......then we have given up on the season and trying to win this division. Seriously, Sheets shouldnt even see the field let alone be active

You mean like using a guy named Kory Sperry in week 10? They are not going to go into a game with 2 RB. So, either Sheets or Tristan Davis is going to be active for the game.

Exactly! Thank you dolfanmark, Mr.MikeO tends to take a negative outlook on things first it seems. He probably freaked out that Sperry was on the field.

With Sperry, we had little choice. Nalbone was gone. Fasano injured. We were down to ONE TE (Haynos). On the other hand, even without Ronnie we have 2 healthy RBs (as well as Polite).

tight end is a little different than running back.

True. We're LESS likely to see someone brand new at RB than at TE. It's a tougher position to play.

Of course, now that Ronnie is out for the year, we're definitely going to be seeing Sheets heavily in practice.
