Why wouldn't he play inside? He's certainly got the size. And run defense is his strength. He seems like a better fit at ILB to me. As long as you can avoid having him cover the TE or backs out of the backfield.

No don't get me wrong, I think he could play inside, God knows we need help there. But without learning or having practiced the position, and especially coming in cold after not having played due to injury for quite a while, that experiment might need to be shelved at least until after this game

I'm anxious to see if another offseason of preparing to be a LB means he's lost some more weight and might be a little quicker. He was a heck of a player in college. But, you're right. By being on PUP, he hasn't been allowed to practice. So, I can't imagine they've had time to familiarize him with the inside role. If he can help keep JT fresh, it has to be a help.
