I don't think 10-6 gets us into the playoffs, but I agree that it is way too early to panic about the Dolphins' season. I penciled this one in as a loss and I fully expected us to go into the next two weeks at 2-4. The upshot is that we've got two division games coming up...
I can't see us making the playoffs after today. 2-4 heading into back to back road divisional games. And our defense can't stop a big-time passing game and we have the Pats twice who don't even try to run anymore and just pass every play esentially.
We have given away 2 games at home in which we had no business losing. One we had a 24-3 lead....the other we held the ball for 45 min. You can't give away games and keep boucing back.
THEN, our secondary sucks. We have a bunch of games vs teams with big passing games
New England (TWICE)
Pitt
Houston
Even Jax is throwing for a lot of yards this year
We can't stop any team with a decent to big passing game. If Henne devolopes over the rest of the season and turns out to be a big time QB, I'm happy with this year. But playoffs.......no chance in hell
Sorry, I love this team as much as anybody, but it's going to be a huge uphill battle for them to have a winning record this season.
They blew two winnable games at home. Yes they were against two of the best teams in the league, but they are both games they should have won. Losing home games when playing in a tough division like the AFC East will just kill you.You have to beat good and bad teams, if not then even if you make the playoffs you won't be going far.
This team has way too many holes right now. Until they address the Safety, Linebacker, Wide Receiver, and Tight End positions, they are going to be a middle of the road team.
Signing Gibril Wilson to a big deal turned out to be a mistake. Also resigning Crowder as anything other than a backup was beyond foolish.
This team will make the playoffs next year, because I fully expect the front office to address some of those needs and fix the mistakes they made this year.
i have zero faith in our front office. Let's look at their track record since taking over
1) Signed Earnest Wilford (BUST)
2) Signed Eric Green (CUT in preseason.. BUST)
3) Signed Gabril Wilson (BUST)
4) Had horrible WR's last year, did nothing to improve them this year
5) Drafted Pat White (BUST in the making)
6) Re-signed Channing Crowder (he stinks)
7) Let Renaldo Hill walk (Best secondary play from last year)
The front office has HIT on some draft picks (Long, Thomas, Henne, Merling, Langford, Smith, Davis..etc). But for FREE AGENT pick ups they have SUCKED as much as a front office can SUCK!
yeah it was a great pick in Round 2. Especially when Henne looks like he might be our QB for the next 10+ years. So we used a 2nd round pick on a back-up QB who will never play
