You want to cover the TE? Play a nickel and put Sean Smith on the TE, or, maybe, but Bell on him and have Wilson play SS. Even with one fewer LB we will probably be able to stop the run effectively. Our D-Line is THAT good. On the other hand, our LBs and Wilson can't cover TEs!!

We have always had trouble covering great TE's. I think Tony Gonzales has always had big games against us.

It isn't just TE's. It's any receiver (RB, FB, WR) that runs a quick slant over the middle. At some point during the San Diego game we put Bell in coverage over the middle, instead of Wilson, and Bell broke up the pass. Not sure, exactly, what the defensive alignment was, but Bell is absolutely better in coverage than Wilson. Our weakness against TE's is mainly because of Wilson and Crowder. I think we could do much better.
