IMO, "indispensable" means the one player if lost can screw our season. If Porter went down we know JT and Roth could do just as well as Porter and Roth did last year. Obviously this reporter has never heard of Jason Taylor. Another case of one of these national sports "magazine" writers have no clue and doing no HW. Wish I had that job...
I have to agree with Twilley - Ferguson #2 on the list. Some have said Ronnie, but he is hardly "indispensable", as a Ricky/Cobbs combo would be just as effective as Ronnie/Ricky.
Here is my list of indispensables in order:
Chad P.
Ferguson
Jake Long
Channing Crowder
Will Allen
We lose any one of these guys for a long stretch this year and we are in trouble. Really no one that can step in and take up the slack right now. Hopefully that will change as time goes on.
Jake Long because that would shake up the entire offensive line. Carey would have to move to left tackle and then we would end up with Frye, Garner or Gardner on the right.

I agree. I figured the writer was basing his article on what we did last year, so my comment about Ronnie was regarding last year. We won a number of games because of Ronnie and the wildcat. No one else on the team would have run that offense as well as Ronnie.
Also, while I agree, I hate to see Channing Crowder on that list. It just reaffirms what I've been saying that we're woefully thin at ILB. As for Will Allen, that's the position that could change, depth wise, as the season progresses. I still have high hopes for Vontae Davis, and Nate Jones played well in the nickel last year. In fact, Goodman was our best CB last year, not Will Allen.
Torbor and Ayodele have been singled out for being two of the most improved players over the off season so Crowder may be lower on the list than he would have been last year.
