He can start, but if not much better than Merlin or Mcdaniels, then why when Ferguson gets tired or if he gets hurt? Could be saving as back up? and in on certain passing plays.

Not sure Starks can truly play NT. Merling is our future, but it's nice to have Starks as a backup if someone goes down.

Starks is going to play in the nickle at DT along side Merling with JT and JP or Roth on the edge. He will get his fair share just like last year.

Starks is only 7 lbs lighter than Fergy and the same ht.

Playing NT is not just about how much you weigh. It's about strength. You must be a single immovable object.

I read that Merling just got replaced in practice because he's not playing well. I didn't like when the Dolphins cut Vonnie Holiday then and I don't like it now. I think we need to bring him back because these 1 year rookies are not good enough yet.

It's probably a motivational tool. Merling has the talent. He might not be putting forth the effort. JT has likely raised the bar on defense, and other players need to follow suit or get benched.
