Draft Trade down scenario

Date: March 08, 2009 05:53PM I believe that our position in the draft is ideal for a trade down. Get our players of need and add an extra selection.
Of course, there are a couple of players that could fall to #25 that we should grab if still available. Trading down a couple of spots should allow us to select Darius Butler, CB from UConn. And then we would have a shot at OLB/TE Connor Barwin from Cincinnati in the second round. Butler would bring us a real quick guy that can close the zones and Barwin would bring size and athletism to the strong side LB spot...as well as the ability to play on offense. Date: March 08, 2009 06:29PM problem with trading down is there needs to be someone who really wants a player at 25 enough to trade up for. The only way I see that happening is if one of the top rated WR or OL falls--and we decide we really don't want a WR in the first. Re: Draft Trade down scenario

Date: March 08, 2009 07:05PM that barely ever happens in the nfl. only time I can think that ever happens is when the player refuses to play in the team that picked him (Elway, Eli Manning). so I don't expect us to pick someone in the 1st round and then trade him. Re: Draft Trade down scenario
