KHALIF BARNES, OT 4 YRS WITH JAX, 6-5/325. STACEY ANDREWS OT, 5YRS CIN, 6-7/300. JULIOUS PEPPERS, DE 7 YRS CAR,67/300. CHRIS CANTY 4YRS DAL, 6-7/300. DUNTA ROBINSON,CB, 5 YRS HOU, 5-10/184. OSHIOMOGHO ATOGWE, S, 5 YRS STL, 5-11/210. draft around that and add a pat white AND SUPERBOWL.
Impending free agent LT Khalif Barnes is reportedly no longer in the Jaguars plans. The Jags don't have a replacement lined up, so it will be a position of need if Barnes is allowed to walk. Barnes was one of the worst left tackles in the league in 2008. He never improved after a promising 2005 rookie year.
Stacey Andrews is coming off of an MCL reconstruction.
We are set at DE and Peppers will eat major cap space as an experiment at OLB.
Dunta Robinson has potential to be a very good corner but hasn't proven himself in 5 years averaging only 2.6 INT's per season. He is coming off an injury, is very small and has injury concerns. That's a big gamble to take on a player that wants 23 million guaranteed. Somebody will overspend for him but it won't be us.
i agree with you and add barnes, he worst tackle in league because of the team he is on, we can get him cheap after offseason and pre season then we can either sign, or drop it like its hot!! i dont know i think peppers is so desperate to leave panthers he will be willing to take a pay cut? if not oh well we will take on from baltimore i say go after leonard if balt doesnt resign.

We are only about $25M under the cap. Julius Peppers alone will eat up about $15M of that, maybe more (his franchise tage would be $16M). You have to leave a couple million to sign draft picks. That would leave enough room to sign one of the other players on the list.
If Atogwe is not franchised, I can see him being a prime target for us. I think we will re-sign Carey, Bell, and Goodman. And with those 4 signings, it would likely be all we could afford in free agency, except for a couple of bargain basement types. I think we'll restructure Holliday's deal to free up a little more money. Maybe we could fit in one more guy if that happened.

Not sure Nicks will be there at 44, but if he is...wow, steal steal steal.
What about Hank Baskett for a tall posession guy? He's not amazing by any means, but he's a big fella with some talent and still a lot of upside. Also of a mold you don't have yet.

...errr, wow, crazy thing happened while typing this. I'm at work and I just got a tip from Donte Stallworth. Should have asked for an autograph, but it's like 1am here and I didn't want to bug him. But I did say "get yourself back to the Saints."
I thought Hank Baskett was a RFA but he does have good taste in women...Kendra Wilkinson. Dumb as a rock but very hot and loves football (Chargers fan)
